Football is a business, we are fans.
While we want these transfers pushed through as quickly as possible to feed our muppet needs the club have other targets.
The aim is to get the guys in for pre season and hopefully the US tour. It may be that we are haggling over £ 3-4 million per player. We may think it is worth negotiating for another week to try and get them in and save the cash. By the same score we may then get to the end of the week and just pay up the difference to get them in.
You always try to get the best deal possible and if by waiting another week we can save ourselves £10 million then so be it.
All the signs are positive, our targets are quiet the club is quiet. We don't a[[ear to be getting linked with fall back options and so it looks like everything is on track.
The recent long drawn out transfers have seen us paying the asking price of the selling club - Sterling, kdb, Stones come to mind.
