It's Quiet - a new dawn

So maybe the question is why do we miss out on often what seem to be targets quite high up our list? I'm thinking back to rvp, de rossi, hazard, Sanchez originally, Isco, Pogba?

Every single one of those deals fell through because of legitimate reason that has been explained numerous times on this forum,as you are aware......

Jesus, why do people turn on the ITKs when stuff like this happens?

@Ric had been told that Laporte was signing as the bloody club were adamant he was and it came down to the player.

From the sounds of it, again the player has made a u turn. It doesn't mean that information passed on by any of the guys on here was false. It fucking happens.

Yeah, it's a bit odd when people suggest we were never even in for him, as we clearly were. As with Laporte, the club firmly believed that they had secured Alves' services and had a verbal agreement with him. If the player changes his mind at the last minute there's not much you can do about that.

Multi millionaire in the twilight of his career, has a choice of living in Paris in an easy league where is almost guaranteed of silverware and earn a fortune.

Or,

Live in Manchester playing in one of the most intense leagues in the world, no guarantee of any silverware and do all of this for £7 million a year less.

Tough call.

So we know of at least two situations - three if you include Kaka (bullet dodged there) - where verbal agreements fell through.
... why are we still making them?
Get it done. Zero excuses with Alves. He was a free agent.

TBH I'm not aware at all, I was asking a serious question. This same forum has been telling me we have signed a player who is now signing for PSG. Bayern have just signed Rodriquez today on a two year loan. We have just seemed to struggle getting deals done imo.

Just about sums it up and kind of flies in the face of his little statement just last week about him as a person and what motivates him.

He has made his choice and we move on.

Exactly. The only thing that I think will happen from this, will be a hardening of the tactics and less of the nice approach.
