It's Quiet - a new dawn

Care to explain how our business dealings are predictable?.....What should we have done to speed up the signings of Walker and Mendy ?....
For me we are predictable because we seemingly ask a club how much player x is valued at. Then we spend weeks negotiating. Finally after a nice long drawn out saga we agree to buy them at the price the club value them at anyway.

For example Mendy is reportedly worth 40-45mil. This was known in May. When/if we buy him I guarantee the deal will be in and around that figure.

where does it say city had a gentleman's agreement with city/pep ????
maybe what happened was ,
alves asked juve if he could leave on a free, there must of been a reason juve agreed and it wouldn't of been so he could of played for pep one last time, thats not a good enough reason, alves it would seem wanted to live with his new wife in Paris where she is based ,or are people looking to slag tixi, pep and city off without knowing the proper reason ??

There was a clause in Alves' Juve contract that allowed him to break free this summer if he wanted to.

I think he saw an opportunity to get one last big pay day with City, but then Paris came in and offered it him instead.

If this window has served one purpose it's killed off the ITKs
I disagree completely. What do you want the ITK's to do? Either they tell us what they have heard, or not. Their knowledge is off course second hand, and can thus be wrong, or subject to change without warning. For me they are trying to do us a favour by providing information we all crave for. Don't blame them if this information is wrong. The alternative is no information at all and you can get exactly that by ignoring the transfer threads.

Not slagging the club off mate, just have an ongoing frustration with the way we sometimes do business. I could name 4 or 5 big signings so far this summer that didnt take 4-5months of tapping up a player, getting an agreement with said player and then wait a few weeks/months before official bid goes in.

There was many links to us wanting Alves, even before his release from Juve became official. So all this dragging him off honeymoon/ wedding day wasnt even in question. Most of the arguments on these threads were, we should let him have his holiday, there is no way he'd turn down Pep, this is in the bag and I believe the club approached this transfer in the same way..almost if they said to themselves, relax we got this! While PSG was ringing him the weekend of his wedding(if you believe some in the press) working on an offer to beat ours....Links only started with PSG over the last week whenit came out that Aurier could be on the move. In this situation, there is just as much chance the club told him to go and enjoy his holidays as there is to him refusing to sign a contract before he went away. So at the end of the day, anyone that has an opinion that the club messed up, has as much right as anyone that thinks we did nothing wrong!

So lets sign Mendy and Walker and move on!;)

But the same could be said of Chelsea with Lukaku. I would be very surprised if Spurs have not bid for players but they haven't landed anyone of note. Liverpool are still short in key positions. We may fail on some but we have already landed two in no time. Most of our rivals would be happy with that.

Unfortunately it was the perfect storm in relation to Alves. A top club has come along, with a large brazilian contingent and his best mate part of the squad.

This.. Wasnt Isco set to join then his Dad stepped in or sommat..

The only thing set in stone is the signature on the contract.

No. However a certain ITK who claimed we had forced one of our current players to change number so Alves could be number 5 is clearly a bullshitter

If that's what he was told, from someone he deemed reliable, why is he a bullshitter? With Laporte the media team had started making the Welcome to City package...

but his new wife lives and works from Paris , also where does it say we had a gentleman's agreement.

it will be interesting to know what pep says about this "gentleman's agreement"

I agree mate...you win some and you loose some! Lets hope we win a few more before the season starts!;)
