It's Quiet - a new dawn

It's not the most raggy thing, it's reality from the point of view of someone who is ready to invest hundreds of millions dollars. You can have the best product on the world but if that one doesn't produce emotions on the market, it's as good as the shittiest product. And boy, City had prodced emotions since 2008.

I don't care if rags think the same, it's even better if they think it's partly because of them we're better than them now, it hurts them more. I hate rags "massively" but I have zero complexes of them and won't change something I think because that's what they eventually think too. You're entitled to do opposite of course.

There is no way of expanding Newcastles ground or adding other facilities because of where it's situated

Another reason I have heard is that Newcastle isn't that well served by an airport, Manchester has a hub airport. It helps with foreign players knowing they can't get home easily. Newcastle is almost always 2 stops. It means that the North East isn't as much of a draw for players.

Besides that we also have muffins and barms.

No you don't understand, it's all because upsetting United fans would create media attention. We have only United to thank for all our post-takeover success.

isn't that right, @almir

Silly little things like the stadium, infrastructure, established fan base and dirt cheap price because Thaksin needed a get out are all secondary to Mansour just wanting to wind up United fans in the media.

I doubt players think about that tbh.

Yep, it's pretty much that but tbh, you didn't hit me as the one to understand that part anyway. Cheers mate.

This is a line I have only ever heard rags trot out.

Mostly because it's provably bullshit, he was actively looking for a PL club and tried to buy Newcastle before us.

I heard the Sheikh actually bid on Liverpool but offered less than the Americans - though he promised a more long-tem strategy, the dippers wanted the upfront cash!
I think one of the draws for him when buying us was the vast swathes of land around the stadium prime for redeveloping.

Oh, that's the first one I read through. Between that and the general City thread blood pressure drug salesmen would make a killing.

Just had a read through out of curiosity and they are hurting.

My personal favourite is this one:

They probably make loads with all their stadium sellouts. And all those passionate city fans Worldwide.

Lol jokes, they're rich because some dumbass billionaire thought he was buying United

Haha, I thought about posting that one and the one where the poster ends it with "I hope this makes it to Bluemoon" as they are both equally bile-filled.

So to summarise, by my calculations we have spent £206m and recuperated £38m from player sales.

The difference in quality from the players we have brought in to the ones we have let go is staggering. We have trimmed the squad and replaced quantity with quality.

Add Alexis and a left footed defender who can cover centre half and left back and we will have one of the best squads in world football. The perfect blend of youth and experience, athleticism and ball playing capability.

If we get Alexis and LCB, and manage to offload the further outgoings you've listed then Txiki really has silenced his critics. Its easy saying he had the money to do it but you still need the contacts and the know how to get the players in through the door.
