Serious seems like Mangala's staying.. I think he deserves another chance he's physically got it all to be a top class centre back in the premier league, he just needs to Improve on his distribution. I'd rather him than Otamendi IMO

He has got a really long way to go though. Watching him vs. Madrid he looked so out of place on the ball, sometimes just getting in the way, and his touch is heavy and passing selection is not good. The others avoided him deliberately at times.

But he can and will improve, and we know from a passage in Pep Confidential that Pep believes basic technique can be massively improved no matter how old a player is. Rondo's Rondo's Rondo's until he sees crisp one touch passing in his dreams.

Completely agree, the lad for all his faults always gives it everything he has and deserves a second chance.

Not the stereotypical Pep player in terms of ability on the ball but then again I didn't think Walker or Mendy would be his first choice fullbacks either so what the fuck do I know.

He reminds me of Sol Campbell, great physical attributes but limited with his feet. Not a pep player really. But who knows.

The question I suppose is whether we'd be happy with him playing 35 games this season if Kompany got injured? Tbh, I'm not sure I am, but then again I'm not really happy about Otamendi doing that either, let alone Tosin.
I think he's worth a chance. He'd learn loads imo.

Don't understand the criticism of Mangala's passing v Real Madrid.

I seem to remember others passing it directly to Real Madrid's attack, but not Mangala. He seemed to mostly find City players from what I could see, including forward passes.

Unless it's his attempted pass down the wing when nobody ran up there that means he can't pass ? That looked perfect as well to me though, just a miscommunication.

Perhaps he needs to settle down & start feeding the opposition like 5 or 6 others did.

Mangala is probably slightly more comfortable on the ball than Lescott which isn't saying much. I doubt that will convince Pep to keep him.

If we go far in the 4 comps, they could share 60 odd games between them. Just depends on who misses out on the big games I suppose.

No matter what they say publicly, players want to play as many games as possible mate. I wouldn't envy PG the juggling act he has to do to keep them happy. That's just with what we have now without any additions.

I've tried many times to pick a best 11, it's almost impossible mate. Peps certainly gonna have to use his charms next season.

I'm not a fan of Mangala but I'd rather we stuck with him as 4th choice than spend another 30 million on someone who's either only as good as or slightly better than him.

If the focus is on a defender who is good on the ball, should we see if there's a way back for Nedum Onuha ?
