It's Quiet - a new dawn

Denayer doesn't want to play for city anymore, that seems pretty clear to me. Our plan for him was the loan to Girona and he rejected it and then ran his mouth in the press about it. Totally fair enough but that says I'm not interested anymore I don't want to be here.

The Mangler would get absolutely slaughtered in the Premier League and would absolutely shoot holes in our whole system. He had great games before, and he had shit games before, but now we play a system were everyone has to be comfortable on the ball so that we can pass through a press. If we put this lad back in, opposition teams know that all they have to do is mark the two closest players and he'll revert to bambi on ice. Having him in the side just increases the pressure and reduces the oppositions of the rest of our defensive unit.

I like him, his attitude is first class and with his attributes I can 100% see why we paid as high as we did, but it didn't work before and I don't see why it would now in a more technical system.

I think we should just pay Inigo Martinez release clause and be done with it. He covers left back and centre half, is left footed, is comfortable on the ball and does those diagonal passes pep likes. Height wise he's not ideal at all, but we'll still have added considerably to the average height of the defence this summer so not such a deal breaker. Takes a mean free kick too.

Agree completely with your assessment about Mangala. The other side of the coin with Pep's teams is that defenders need to be able to defend one on one in oceans of space. In the Premier League virtually every team has a tall and imposing centre forward and you need defenders capable of disrupting hold up play, winning the ball in the air, and robust enough not to get rolled or walked through, as well as being comfortable in possession. Even Stones struggled with this at times last season, never mind Otamendi, so I'm not convinced another relatively short (5ft 11') centre half in the shape of Martinez would tick enough boxes. He'll have his own attributes of course, but for me the priority is a defender more akin to Kompany, because the City captain is far and away our biggest absentee risk

Absolutely mental mate. How many fake rags do you think post on here ?

So now those who want us to buy one of the brightest talents in world football, someone who could be here 10 years, and by doing so keep him out of the hands or Real,Barca or even Bayern, somewhere we'll never likely to get him from in the future, are undercover rags?

Fucking brilliant this place at times.

Aguero will go soon enough, we need the future in before he does or the price for his replacement will make Mbappe chicken feed.
