I'm a firm believer in keeping Sergio at least another year but let me ask this. Those outraged at the thought of him going, do you think the club should keep him until his legs start to go then let him leave for say £7m back to Argentina? Or do you think the club should run like the business it is & get the maximum amount they can for him while he's still scoring goals?
I think some fans forget it is a business & in reality the club don't care what we think or want & to be honest they shouldn't do if they're to be successful.
I'd get Mbappé in & let him know/understand the long term plan, or get a deal signed where he joins us next season. I honestly can't see Sergio staying longer than this year anyway, be it his choice or the clubs. With regards to any player now, we have to stop letting players stay beyond their best, we can't hold on to them forever as that's the mess we found ourselves in this year having to spend £200m on our defence! We need to make money from sales & sell them just as they start to dip. I love Zab but he stayed too long & it was obvious he couldn't handle the pace we now play at, we've done it before with others too.
Love Aguero but I'd rather see £50-60m now from any sale than £20m in another 2 years. I'm purely thinking in business terms now which is how the club will look at it.
he's pure shit can't defend to save his lifeNever seen him play. How good is he defensively, is he strong and how quick is he?
I agree. He is the best. Right now that is the case. As I've said, I appreciate everything Sergio has done for us and recognize his extraordinary talent.I think you may a good point in your first sentence. We keep him another year. No player can last forever. We then look next summer where we and he are at. It's the sensible thing to do. The thing is that no business plan can disguise though is aguero is still the best striker out there. Better than Sanchez and better than the yet unproven mbappe. I'd take either or of those course I would,in fact let's have both, I'd love to secure that kid even for the following season. As of now though aguero is king.
Exactly the right way to look at it.I agree. He is the best. Right now that is the case. As I've said, I appreciate everything Sergio has done for us and recognize his extraordinary talent.
However, a year or two and if his skills are on the wane and we have better or can sign better we have to be realistic. Find the best deal we can for him or allow him to leave on a free to to Argentina and wish him well and let him know he's a legend and will always be spoken of with love and shown love when he comes to visit.
I'd love if he and others from out title season could be in their pomp forever. Father Time gets to us all, unfortunately.

Exactly. I wish Sergio, Carlos, Vinnie, Pablo, and Spanish Dave could be in their 20's/prime forever with us. Sadly, they can't. In my opinion, we should keep our players as long as they are good value for us. At that point, find them a suitable new position or let them find their own knowing we will always cherish what they've done for our club.Exactly the right way to look at it.
I didn't say to jettison him now, did I? No. Fwiw he wants to finish his career in Argentina from everything I've read. We should keep him here with us another year or two, win as much as we can, honour him and wish him Buena suerte.what is this whenever there is something about about aguero people say anything to justify their side of argument. aguero is 29 not fucking 49 he still probably has 3 or 4 more years at his absolute peak.
I dont think that is his point Bill. I believe what he is saying is that yes, Kun is the best out there today - in 12 months he may not be and therefore should the club cash in or take the riskI think you may a good point in your first sentence.
