It's Quiet - a new dawn

We're about to sign some random obscure bloke, but he's one for the 'CFG' as opposed to us. One of those loan to sell jobs. Can't really say who (sorry!) but I'd honestly never heard of him so I greeted the news with a shrug tbh. Presume most of you will be the same haha.

You've never heard of Alexis Sanchez?

;-)

Nah, he's based in Europe. Nippy forward, 24. Not from one of the major leagues - will go straight on loan to Girona most likely.

I wonder how long it will take Gill to draw up rules on how many players one club can loan from another in a given season.

Local newspaper in Zwolle(The Netherlands) says that City are gonna sign 23 year old defender Nicolas Freire from Argentinos Juniors to then loan him out to PEC Zwolle whos TD is in Manchester to finalize the deal.

The Barca game a few years ago did it for me - you couldn't get within a few feet of them without them falling over and the ref giving the foul. Then Navas gets fouled, we get nothing and it leads to the red card and game over. I suspect there's an element that the whole thing's bent but I mainly suspect it's down to the more physical element of the PL meaning that English teams struggle to adapt their game to a way that's acceptable to some overly flamboyant ref.

I realised that night that I'd rather watch us play West Brom or Palace than that nonsense and apart from taking the kids to the Madrid semi-final, as it was possibly a once in a lifetime experience, I've not been back. Not on the CL cup scheme this time, either. Happy for my seat to go to some hipster in a half and half scarf.

Appreciate the club feels it's important, but I've got no interest in it.

Yeah fair dos. I accept it's a slightly different game to what you usually get in the prem and I appreciate the style of football and remarkable players on show. Enjoy both types and happy we get to compete in both comps.

Tough to say because we've heard about a "mystery CB" all window. From the links it could be Inigo Martinez, Ben Gibson, or a higher transfer fee that many want in van Dijk. As far as the attacker we've been linked heavily with Sanchez and Mbappe all window. If not one of those two it's really up in the air. Pep could also decide that one of the signings be a midfielder, most likely a holding mid. There haven't been any links really, a recent rumor of Busquets that has been shot down by many Barca ITKs, could just be lazy journalism since Pep brought him through Barca. I should know more in three weeks.

Thanks mate!

Brahim Diaz promotion to the first team is dependant on whether we sign another forward apparently.
I say give the lad a chance.

With Sanchez and mbappe dragging out, I don't see much point in buying for the sake of it, unless it's for either one of them two. definitely think Brahim will step up, I think he could have done last season instead of giving games to navas.

Assuming Nasri, Delph, Bony and Mangala are off we have space for 2 foreign players and 1 homegrown player. I assume they'll be filled by the players we need -a forward and a centre back.

Diaz needs a loan imo. He won't get the minutes this season and has already been playing in the U23s

Foden on the other hand can still benefit from playing now and then with the U23s as he is yet to make that step.
