The last time he got a red card, the seemingly frequent occurrence of which got him his 'psycho' rep, was 6 years ago. Think you ought to have watched a bit of la liga in the mean time :/

Irrespective, Pepe is not a center back to play passing football and contribute to build ups. Never has been. That's enough of a reason I reckon he wasn't targeted.
 
So we are apparently interested in signing a forward if possible (Sanchez / Mbopp) and a CB (VVD / Martinez / Gibson linked).

Currently seems like Sanchez and Mbopp are unlikely which would maybe free up funds for the CB option, making VVD more possible? Anything else been rumoured, any CMs?
 
If we were, unlikely as it may be, to buy Messi, I reckon we'd at least wait till next year to see what UEFA do about PSG's purchase of Neymar.

Should it be judged alright, and assuming the rumors are true of Qatar paying Neymar on the side to trigger his release clause, then I imagine Abu dhabi could do the same. This of the only way of not falling foul of FFP. Again, all of this assuming Messi will ever want to leave barca for anything other than Argentina.

Honestly, as big a Messi fan I am, 300m for a 31 yr old, albeit the GOAT.. I'm not sure how Sheikh Mansour feels about that financially.

Maybe but his pass completion is OK. You don't survive that many years at Real if you are embarrassed by the ball at your feet. What he surely would have had is the kind of leadership qualities in defence that we miss without Vinnie but which Stones will hopefully develop.
 
I can't see Mbappe or Sanchez coming now, though the latter named is much more likely to happen last minute. I do get the feeling we might see a centre back arrive last minute.

Thoughts blues?
 
Can't see either of them coming either.

It's very quiet. Perhaps a Centre Back or Defensive Midfielder?
