It's Quiet - a new dawn

Until, IIRC, Garcia replaced him to bring home the bacon.

Although he is/was my hero, I think the main reason Garcia was used so much during that run-in was because we had more or less only Dzeko available as a striker. Aguero and Negredo were struggling with injury issues and "Jovetic" is Serbo-Croatian for "struggling with injury issues." So we needed to incorporate an extra midfielder most of the time and the well-coiffed Javi was the guy. Did a good job, though!

For me, Fernandinho was absolutely the player of the season that year. Maybe even more than Yaya.

I think if we start to be more clinical in front of goal the DM conversation will be resigned to the past. I'd like us to sign a big striker so we have another option when teams defend in numbers.

So far this season he has only had the choice of Fernandinho and Yaya and he has picked Dinho 3 times. It will be interesting to see what happens when Gundogan is fit. I think Fernandinho's days are numbered with us and we'll only offer him an extension if we can't get the right upgrade.

When gundogan is fit he should play with dinho and not as his replacement

Until we get dicked by a top European side or a premiership one for that matter. We don't always play cannon fodder

While we are all bemoaning Dinho, Monaco have let it out accidentally that Mbappe is offski's.

Jovetic photoshoot has him wearing Mbappe's 10.

Naby Keita agrees to Join Liverpool. Will join in 2018 though! So he is off as well. He wasn't a target however but would've loved him here.

I agree that we need a better/faster/younger/more-consistant Fernandinho (as much as I like the guy) but it's surely not Stones. I'm only just getting used to him playing half decently as a defender in the time his played this summer. It's a huge leap to think of him actually playing in midfield.

It may be contrary to popular opinion but he isn't a good passer of the ball (IMO). You can tell by his tempo. He doesn't make quick decisions, his passes are relatively slow/imprecise and they're one dimensional, i.e. no triangles or ambition. Compare that to the likes of Garcia who's constantly looking for the ball in order to move it intelligently and his passing is crisp and snappy.

If Stones is to live up to not be a complete waste of money then I hope he proves himself to be a decent central defender and leaves the midfield to midfielders. If no one has faith in him as a defender then let him go on loan somewhere to try to improve or sell him.

Yeah good point. Player should never change their positions as they mature.

It's criminal that Hughes then Mancini ruined Kompany by changing him from a midfielder to a centre back.
