Do you think Aguero is going or staying this summer?

no idea but some people on here who clearly know more than me regarding inside info on comings and goings, think he is going...but say it will be his decision (this comment to me is a little bit disingenuous as if a player is made to feel like he isn't wanted he will leave even if he doesn't want to)

Oh, I didn't see/hear that. I've never been high on Sterling but hopefully if the competition comes in, it gets him fueled up and fights for a spot.

I think Sterling has hugely improved since he has come here but I don't think he will ever be a natural goal scorer ...he just doesn't have it. His work rate is fantastic so i was a little surprised by Peps comments.

I think he's going
Like I said before I think the club is pushing a jumper
Aguero won't stay if he's not top dog and the club/pep don't want to just relay on him being our main man upfront
So it makes sense to sell him when his stock is still high to then bring in a younger player

If Aguero decides to leave City it'll be 70% his decision with 30% due to Pep and GJ. Pep doesn't care about a players value, status, price tag or name he will choose a team he thinks is best for each and every game. He will play players based on mostly form (GJ when he joined getting the nod ahead of Aguero), Aguero probably knows this hence why he's considering leaving. GJ all tho has played 7 games has shown he can be the real deal, he's scored in 4 goals and 2 assists in 4 starts, he scored 2 offside goals as well that could've been game winners, he scored the winner VS Swans and equalizer VS Boro, he's showing that he has a killer instinct and can position himself well in dangerous areas, Aguero probably realize this and can see him getting a lot of minutes especially if he continues on were he left off from his injury, thus a threat for him. Aguero clearly wants to play more and be the undisputed starter, but Pep won't allow that as long as GJ is delivering and GJ seems to be hungry and wanting to perform and establish himself as one of the best players.

Sanchez isn't going to be a direct replacement it's most likely Mbappe or Auba that'll be the replacement if anything. Sanchez can play on the wings, as a false 9 and behind the striker he gives Pep more flexibility in his system and the team generally, while providing both Sane and Sterling competitions and they can learn some finishing tips from him especially Sterling.

Pep may not be pragmatic for some people, nor have a plan B as some want, but he has a plan A to Z in terms of attacking, creating chances and going forward. Messi was his ultimate players, neither Aguero or Lewa come close to him in terms of finishing and overall play, Pep wanted Neymar at BM, but they never went after him, now he signed GJ and wants Mbappe both who not only can be lethal finishers but have brilliant overall game to offer the team.

Ye I dont think his work rate is anything to be concerned about, maybe he diesnt assert himself enough on the defensive end but he'll always be in position to do so. I feel sterling's finishing and overall technique of striking a ball is poor and he knows it and I think that affects him mentally when coming into a position to provide so he'll end up over thinking and doing even worse.

Brilliant post and I agree with you

you might not be ignoring them but the amount of shit that Kun gets on here for missing chances yet very few say anything about other players not playing well......and it is relevant when its being used as a reason to sell him....

I don't think there is a good reason to sell sergio at all....He can play with Jesus in a 3 up front.....

I think there is a legit reason for discussing KDB as well.....he hasn't performed consistently enough despite his assists record......and he looks a very obvious weak link when played in a pep team as his defensive work is really poor.....I don't think he fits (at present) to Peps team.

Other players missing chances is relevant to assessing them but not to assessing the sell or retain question over Sergio. The only player we have who can compete with Sergio for a place in the team is Jesus and discussing his misses at this point is entirely superfluous.

I don't want to see Sergio sold but there is most definitely a case to be made that now is a good time to cash in on him e.g. if we could add Mbappe and Sanchez to the squad if Kun left. If we can do something like that, there's a bloody good reason to do it; if we can't, there isn't. Maybe you know that we can't.
