It's Quiet - a new dawn

Absolutely no question in my mind that they'll sign another CB this summer. They're losing Tosin this summer on a free as well and he was nominally part of the 25 man squad this season. My best guess is that actually Otamendi's gonna get sold, Vinny will stay, and we'll bring in another CB. It's a risk but I suspect that at least one if not both the full backs we sign will be able to play as part of a back 3.
We only have 3 senior Centre Backs and one of them is injury prone and the manager likes to play 3 at the back at times and rotate a lot. Doubt we would sell to buy. 4 senior centre backs and 2 senior full backs would be fine and is what most other clubs have.

I've got Kolarov as number 4. Ideally he's the one who gets sold and Otamendi stays.

I think Defoe would be a good back up option. Knows the Prem, low wages, fit as a fiddle, great finisher. Imagine how many he'd get with KDB putting them on a plate for him.

He'd get 0 because he'd not play a single game with Agüero Jesus and Sanchez ahead of him.

I think based on recent teams, and how much better Ota looks with Vinnie, that this would be preferable and hopefully more likely. Pep's fancy for AK has really faded in recent months judging by selection.

If we're getting rid of Kolarov, Kolasinac makes so much sense as a signing.

We can't start the season with just one LB, even if it's someone as good as Sandro, so a back up like Kolasinac who can also comfortably play CB or midfield to stay happy when the number 1 is playing is ideal.

And the fact he's free can't hurt either.

Oh right, so you know that Aguero will actually be here next season? And that Sanchez is coming? Ok then. You must really be at the heart of things behind the scenes at City. This for the info.

Imagine getting rid of Aguero and signing Defoe.

Defoes game wouldn't be any use in a Pep system.
No no no, that's not what is being said. If Aguero goes, he'll be replaced with a world class signing to either partner or rotate with Jesus. We'd still do well to have back up to them and I think it's generally agreed that Kelechi isn't it.
