It's Quiet - a new dawn

Dr Hong was amazing man. I do agree though, De Jong's main attribute was his application/determination and that only brought us so far. Barry was better and Fernandinho better than both ( for me ).
De Jong was limited but he (and Barry) had an element that is missing from the current squad - a nasty streak that made other teams think twice about bullying us

Personally thought we sold de Jong too early.

One thing he had in abundance was character. He wasn't a talented yet flakey player like Nasri and some others. He didn't wear the armband but he was a leader within the side.

And while Kun gets all the plaudits for winning it in extra time, look at de Jong's urgency in getting the ball up the park.

Not much to dislike about Nigel's contribution to MCFC.

This might put a spanner in the works:

Not a huge surprise. He wants to win league titles and possibly the CL. With Bayern he is guaranteed the league every year. And they might with him in the side have a squeak at the latter.
Not bothered really. Ditching one 28 year old for another doesn't seem that creative. We can do better.

I am not so sure Bayern will win next season - not if Ancelotti is still in Munich...

Maybe , but if I had to put a bet on now, City to win the PL or Bayern to win the Bundesliga, it has to be the latter. So I can see the appeal from his point of view. In addition it is less controversial with respect to his relationship with Arsenal fans.

I don't think Bayern will let him go. Unless someone offers big cash.

If he is available for something like £20m-£25m, then why not. But doubt it.

He will not leave. And the sums you mentioned are way too low.

I could imagine that Pep is going for Badstuber who is a free transfer, would not ask for much money and is injury free for the recent season. Probably still needs playing practice to get back to where he was - but at Bayern Pep used him even without. Is totally Pep's kind of player and would be no financial risk even if he still needs time. He had about 10 matches since his injuries - even if he had a lot trainings - and you just are in need of this matches.

Oh, if you look for the next 3 seasons Bayern for sure will win atleast once. But I think that the Ancelotti story implodes in the middle of next season - that is not difficult to predict as it was the same at his other clubs before - with the same kind of problems. And it always takes some bad results for the bosses to react - so if one of the other clubs will be working good next season they will have a good chance.

I'd be surprised if they didn't win it again. Only Dortmund are realistic challengers aren't they?

Though Bayern will be poorer with Lahm retiring; it's disappointing really as he's great to watch and still looks like one of the best full backs in the world. Retiring too early in my opinion.
