It's Quiet - a new dawn

Our season in one game today, no excuses. We have to go out and beat Watford, this is no easy task as they showed against Chelsea they can be dangerous.

Willy
Ferny Kompany Ottomendi Clichy
Yaya
Sterling Silva KDB Sane
Jesus
Should be straight forward as we're focussed and they're on the beach. Chelsea were hung over.

United will beat Ajax. It's a foregone conclusion. Accept it now or be disappointed on Wednesday.

And United will spend huge sums this summer because they have no choice but to do that. So they'll sign at least 1 player that we wanted, maybe more.
Which will pish us towards Plan B players which could impact our effectiveness next season.

And United with enough extra good players will gel and progress despite Mourinho's turgid style of football.

United fans will be annoyingly giddy this summer and probably increasely and unbearably arrogant as the season progresses.

So that'll be United's likely path....my concerns are what happens with us on the parallel track. We have a lot to do to improve on this squad of players and to develop a Plan B against the teams that know full well how to play against Pep's thoroughly predictable style of play.

I have to say that I'm more worried now than I was at any time since 2008. We've left our transitional period until the very last minute. It'll be near on miraculous if Pep succeeds in rectifying so much in such a short period.

Oh how I hope I'm wrong about all of that!

Little old City paranoia at its finest!

Who gives a shit about the rags? They assembled the most expensive squad, under the highest paid manager, in the history of football last season and ended up 6th, with less PL wins than any time in their sordid, hateful history.

An absolute joke of a club who are no more a threat to us than any other mid-table outfit.

Kun isn't going to Barca.

If we get Neymar, it's because Blaugrana need the cash, plain and simple. They're financially up a creek without a paddle and have two major, unavoidable expenditures coming up:
1. Extend Messi or see him walk for free, pissing away the worlds best player and over £150m.
2. Bring in a new manager and give him the squad he wants, with new signings etc.

With Suarez, Barcelona don't even need Kun, but the only way they'll sell Neymar is for his record fee attached and no swap deals would be considered. Now, if you want to say City will sell Aguero to say, China, to fund Neymar, that's different. But it would only happen if Sergio requests it, he won't be pushed.

If they were selling purely because they have to, then that, imo would be the only hope of getting him.

If it was for football reasons, they would need a major player to replace Neymar & not one who just scores, like Aguero, one who runs with the ball & creates havoc. They've already tried Sanchez & moved him on & we have Sane & Jesus, who Txiki would have no doubt aquired for them, if at Barca. Mbappe would perhaps have to be Neymar's replacement if they were in the market for one.

If Neymar does come on the market, seeing as the rags have spent double the resonable amount on Pogba, I see no reason for them not to spend 200 mil on Neymar, if necessary & IF they can fund it.

The rags grew their domination of the Prem, by paying twice the fees & twice the wages anyone else could stomach. No reason they won't try it again if they can find the money.

I think our priority should be to fix all the positions in the team which need fixing & not get sidetracked with any of this. If we do that, we are stronger than anyone else & then if we do land a Neymar or Mbappe, it's just a bonus.

Neymar's fee is £190m, not £150, unless Barcelona decides to sell on a discount.

https://www.fcbarcelona.com/footbal...17/neymar-contract-extension-2021-fcbarcelona

Then there's his wages, he signed a new contract last year and he now reportedly earns €25m a year (£435,000 a week) and in Spain wages are usually reported after tax and this might be so as well.

If Neymar somehow becomes available, United, PSG and possibly Chelsea will be in on it too. But I don't think he'll become available but let's assume he does.

If the rumours of other possible transfers are true, we'll end up spending close to £150m on 2 full backs and a defensive midfielder alone, and United will spend £85m on Griezmann and possibly another £40-50 on a midfielder alone. Both clubs will spend more on other areas before it gets to a Neymar type spending. If and by the time Neymar becomes available, PSG could be in a better financial position than both.

Anyway, to me it sounds like a pipe dream, but it would be great if it happened.

170m actually as its still the first year. PSG might be in a better position and I believe he considered it before but I just think its too soon for him to go to PSG at this stage in his career. Probably ends up staying at Barca anyway!!

1. Kun is a centre-forward, they've already got one of those and he's better.
2. Swap deals are rare in football as it is, there are so many mitigating factors, least of all player wages etc.
3. Barcelona need as much money as possible, that's a fact. They don't want to sell other players like Rakitic too. If their new manager coming in wants Aguero for some reason, then he can have him. Otherwise, why take him just because they can?
4. You seem to believe it's possible only because Messi and Kun are mates, that's not rational in the slightest and isn't even remotely hinted to by ITKs here, the media or otherwise.

A sensible post at last.

...though I wouldn't say no to Mbappe and Sanchez ;)

I know they are rare, I am just saying its a possibility. Fun to think about but still think its longshot for either Neymar or Mbappe. Sanchez might be most likely even then its a massive improvement in our squad.

PSG cant afford him ffp is still out there

It's a very strong possibility United will break the bank again.... for Neymar. He's a brand on a different level and just like with Pogba, Ibra and Rooney it's within their model to offer obscene amounts of money for the type of media exposure they will receive in return. I would love hime at City but we won't IMO enter into serious negotiations knowing Woodward is lurking in the shadows with a blank cheque book.

In the event Kun leaves..and Sanchez is already nailed on..Griezmann is the serious option IMO particularly if Lacazette is off to Atletico.... or maybe Auba....

Mbappe to Real in 12 months...
Lukaku to Chelsea...
Neymar stays or off to Salford

What is with this paranoid fear those bastards have a 'blank cheque book'!?

We can afford more than them, we have the owner, the board and the manager to dominate those dirty little rag cünts in the transfer market and on the pitch.

The days of being grateful for Terry Cooke and celebrating a point against them are long gone. We have nothing to fear. They are scared shitless of us, and with very good fucking reason.

It's going to be a pleasant summer.

So Rags will implement plan A whilst we make do with B and Mourinho will transform them from a dire 6TH placed mediocre side into title challengers whilst Pep struggles?

OK.

Beggars belief doesn't it.

I'm always a bit puzzled why anyone would think we might be in the market for the same players as the rags. There is absolutely no similarity between the kind of players needed to play the Pep way, and those needed to play hoof ball the Maureen way. They must just believe everything that's written in the papers, where they lump the rags into every headline in order to generate the clicks.

People really need to stop thinking we are the poor relatives who have to make do with the scraps that our neighbours leave behind. If anything, it's the polar opposite, despite what the media might have you believe.
