It's Quiet - a new dawn

No, we won't. Arsenal aren't Liverpool. They don't have to convince their fans that Sterling is a money grabbing bastard throwing his life away and that he's a **** and his agents a ****. All they'll do is sign someone to replace him and use the new signing as a distraction. They've been priming the fans for his departure since January.
Completely disagree Arsenal will make it clear they tried everything they could to retain him. They will want the fans to aim the anger at Sanchez and not the club. Arsenal is already very fragile.

And he is by far their greatest asset, apart from the ground, but even I think it could be 60/40 that he comes to us,but that extra 10% swing in favour is made up more from hope really,in reality it is 50/50 I'd say in whether he comes or not,and most upsetting thing is, it will be out of Sanchez's hands really

Funny, because I disagree 100%. What team has all their signings already in place before pre season even starts? It's totally unrealistic. If the season starts and we don't have a new fullbacks, then there's a case to make.

I think we can look at our dealings without comparing to other teams. I agree our rivals haven't done anything worrying which is the only saving grace. I just think it's crazy how we have had these targets for months, worlds worst kept secret our main targets yet we seem to be just plodding on. If you compare it to the way the Silva deal happened it makes it even more odd.

Do you believe that? I genuinely don't think they are arsed about the fans. Keeping Wenger proves that.

Arsenal have showed time and time again, at every single opportunity that they don't give a shit about the fans or their reaction to the club's business. Anyone who thinks the fans opinion, or the expected reaction will play any part in their decision clearly hasn't been paying attention to the last 10 years.

It's July 10th and we haven't signed every single target?!

Another statement i disagree with. How can please one set of fans split with two diffrent opinions ' Wenger in and Wenger out' The situation last season was one the board would never 'win' the only way to stop the fans anger is to do bring in some quality players and do well next season and even more importantly have a plan.

If you think the board don't want to stop the toxic divide that plagued the club at the end of last season you are deluded. They will want to say and do all the right things to have the fans going into the new season with a lot of hope, even if it's false haha.

If they cared about stopping the toxic divide than Wenger wouldn't have been able to wait until the 11th hour to sign his new contract on whatever terms he wanted, and Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ozil would have signed new deals.

Arsenal's board care about the bottom line, and Arsenal's fans didn't even consider a boycott or any other form of action which could threaten it because it wasn't actually serious, and the board know that.

I see all them things as being out of the hands of the board at the time of the divide. However one thing that the board have got massively wrong and one of the very main reasons they have this toxic divide is a lack of planning. How so many players have been able to run contracts down to the final year is unbelievably shocking. I don't think they will make this mistake again, if they do they are idiots.

None of those things were out of the boards hands, you might see it that way, but you'd be wrong. They decide when Wenger signs his deal by offering a deadline. Sign by X/X/2016 or we will find a replacement. Same for the players. Sign or we'll sell you, you can't just run down your value as an asset. Or just give them the money and promises they need to sign.

It's what every other club in the world does.

And i completely agree with that. The boards lack of plan is what got them in a big mess that come at the same time as a fan divide. But i don't think they will continue to make such huge mistakes. And I imagine they have had many meetings about the mess and how to stop it happening again in the future. I don't think we will see them making the same mistake again. My only argument here is saying they don't care about what the fans think, I completely disagree with that statement.

As long as the revenue they garner from fans isn't adversely affected then they couldn't give a shit about the fans, same as any club.

Ah, I see now, you're basing your opinion on the idea that Arsenal's board will suddenly stop acting the same way they've always acted, for no apparent reason, other than a set of circumstances they've been in half a dozen times before.

The idea that they'll act one way because they've always done the opposite at every opportunity in the past is an interesting one, if not setting yourself up for disappointment when they inevitably do what they always do.

Some appear to know a great deal more about how they think Arsenal go about things than how City actually do!
In all honesty there is a lot of material out there gathered over the years describing how Arsenal go about things. With respect to this deal will it happen who knows. Sanchez is not due back for another couple of weeks so this is likely to drag.

Although we've not done that with Milner, Zabba, Clichy, Sagna, Willy and Navas. Fernandinho is out of contract next summer as is Kolorov.

Pretty shocking attempt at a comparison, Zabaleta, Clichy, Sagna, Navas and Willy were players we wanted to let go and Fernandinho is a player who's 33 in May and the club are probably considering letting go.

The fact you're comparing them to Oxlade Chamberlain, Ozil and Sanchez says it all....they treat their best players like we treat the 30+ year old veterans we want rid of.

I wasn't comparing per se, but they've all signed for new clubs in a top division, with the possible exception of Sagna. Suggests we might have had our planning wrong, that's all.
