No need to offer him more money to persuade Sanchez to stay if the stance is they are willing to let him run his contract down.

I suspect they were hoping for an FA cup win and trying to catch him on the feel good bounce of that to sign. gundogan will be competing with the 2 silvas and kdb for the number 8 role while i expect fernandinho to decline next year and not play as many games.
