It's Quiet - a new dawn

With all their competitions this year, Real Madrid will play 60 games; that figure includes FIFA World Club games and European Cup games.

Of those, Marcelo will probably have played 47 games by the end. That's the same number of games that Sterling has played in the season ended,I think.

It'll be interesting to see how many games players play next season, and I suspect there'll be unprecedented rotation. Looking forward to it.

gundogan will be competing with the 2 silvas and kdb for the number 8 role while i expect fernandinho to decline next year and not play as many games.

Still too many players (top quality ones too) for the available positions.

I'd be willing to bet my house that if Yaya announces an extension then Fabinho is a non starter.

We would have:

Gundogan
Yaya
Silva
Silva
Sane
Sterling
KDB
Fernandinho

All listed midfielders. That's quite a selection I know, one that doesn't even include Fernando. I don't see a place for Fabinho unless we see a surprise off load in the shape of the 2 Fs

Edit: I even forgot Delph! We still have some serious dead wood to burn.

Rid of Fernando/Delph and Dinho and there may a be a space for him

So Bernado is done.

Ederson/Walker/Mendy and Fabinho look likely.

Possibly Sanchez.

That's 5/6 in and 4 out. Still think we need a CB.

I can see Yaya going. A fit Gundogan, Fabinho in there as well and Dinho. They way we play, where is the shirt for him in that? I don't see how he gets a game here. We will be the most stocked team for midfield players anywhere, even beating Arsenal.

If Fabinho comes in I think Yaya goes. And Christ knows where if leaves Fernando.
It's actually five out.
Caballero, Navas, Zab, Clichy, Sagna.
Assuming we have a full champions league squad and no extras we need one more out than in, as Gundog is not in our CL squad.
I wouldn't be surprised if Fernando and possibly Delph go if we are bringing in two midfielders. Though Delph only created an extra home grown spot assuming Walker takes Clichy's spot.

I agree with the concept that we have too much but we play 433 or 424 so the only true midfielders are ...
KDB
Silva
Yaya
Gundogan
Fernandinho

So if we sign Fabinho you'd expect at least one of Yaya or Fernandinho to go. I think the latter would be the most likely as he seems to have run his race ( and much appreciated I am towards him).

The midfield is way way too heavy. As it stands, if we brought in Fabinho and nobody else left, we'd have 12 players for 5 positions.

I personally think we need to offload 3 more midfield players.

Absolutely.

If Yaya signs on for a year, then either Fernandinho is off or Fabinho is just some bullshit

Pep likes his midfielders and Dinho and Fab can both play fullback and he has been known to use midfielders as centre backs, wouldn't be surprised to only see two go.

I'd agree with 2 but if it's Yaya that stays, well I'm not really sure what happens here.

He isn't versatile. He plays one position (very well). The 2 would have to be the 2 Fs
