It's Quiet - a new dawn

It's odd that considering everything from players' diets to buying foreign clubs for CFG is meticulously planned, we still seem to shoot ourselves in the foot so often with transfers. It's bloody average of Txiki or whoever is in charge to let every full back leave then wonder why teams are quoting us silly money for full backs. Is he really that naive or just arrogant? Either way it's worrying.

Did you see @Sammy_Goal Tweets today.

I saw them earlier and wasn't sure about them

Not heard anything I 100% trust for about a week. Heard plenty of gossip, and it's all contradictory!

Scenes if Mendy doesn't sign.

This summer will have gone from looking incredibly promising to a potential calmamity.

Indeed mate, I fell for the itk made up shit, I didn't listen to the head which was saying we've been hear a thousand times with bullshit signings that never materialise, but you know what I still believe but I still reckon we're struggling,
I know mate, I even pretty much fell for the bullshit that rosler fella was spouting the other day, haha.

Same every summer, but I honestly thought this was the one where we'd just get the business done, how wrong I was.

Well it's odds or evens for tricky if he doesn't come up with the goods he will be out the door quicker than shit through a Goose

This
The biggest issue is not having brought in long term replacements in FB position a year ago. Bad planning

I know. We need to make this happen or move on. I'm sure we know that to be fair. We're so exposed at full back we have to get someone in. had we moved for two young full backs as stand ins, it would be a lot easier. We also let the Jan transfer window pass us by when we must have known all this was in the pipeline.

What fucks me off even more, considering I'm just some numpty sat in the stands, is that I implored us to sign a left back at Xmas, said it was mental we didn't at least get someone like Bertrand or Van Aanholt etc, based on it making it easier now in the summer. 'Oh No, don't be so stupid, why buy a stop gap" I was told. Yeah yeah yeah. Load of bollocks.
You know what mate, reckon your bang on with that, most blues knew last season that we should of upgraded before contracts expired, it isn't a doom and gloom moment, but it's a costly one.

Mendy has done all he can to allay our fears or he is the biggest wind up merchant ever. If he's not on the plane next week I may start to go into flap mode but I expect there's a lot going on behind the scenes right now.

I said exactly the same Rammy. Like you, I'm just the same numpty fan sat in the stands, and yet it was/is as plain as the nose on your face.

Having said that, however, the problems facing the club in that scenario are three fold as I see it.

1) Identifying players who fit the system
2) Identifying players who are available, as the selling club will not want to lose a quality player in the middle of the season
3) Dealing with players currently in the squad whose nose would be put out of joint.

With regards to point 3, and I'm not 100% au fait on this, if a player who is/was currently contracted as a member of the 1st team squad and then finds himself out of the permitted squad number rules, could that said player then have a case against the club for restricting his opportunity to pursue his trade?

As I said,I'm just a numpty sat (stood) in the stands so what the fuck do I know? :-)

I can't see the manager being impressed with what's going on. Looks like the Alves thing was unavoidable in terms of the huge contract offered by PSG at the last minute. We are back in training and days away from flying out to the USA with one full back , who has seen better days . The club has left itself wide open to being held to ransom and the planning over the last few seasons in regards to the full backs has been shambolic .

Jesus...people picking the bones of ITK's passed on info is laughable. We're still in for 3 of the 4 fullbacks we're linked with. Amount of flapping makes us look ridiculous quite frankly. Obviously we're all a little deflated with Alves but I'm glad we didn't match the offer. Chill out fellas...people will be brought in

i have a FEELING that agents and there players are being told to make manchester city wait ?? something in the back ground does not smell to pretty and a couple of targets that will make all the difference to manchester city running away with the premier league and a very good chance in the champions league are going else where

the dirty world behind closed doors and PSG paying over double what we was offering something not right about pep's targets the full backs are the cog that turns all the wheels if we we get the 2 we want then manchester city will be hard to beat home and away this season but something crops up and again we are made to wait

can the powers at the premier league be butting pressure on agents to stall any transfers with man city they would not want a team to walk away with the league and even more so manchester city with the scum over the road hoping to build a challenge to the big teams

Agents look after their own interests and will not kow tow to pressure from the league or anyone else. They are there to make money.

Lot of depressed people on here.....Crikey transfer window still 6 weeks to run
Sept 2nd is the time to feel depressed.
Let's just see what evolves before we start wanting to beat people with sticks.
We all would have done what Alves has done at his age easier league and double the money and wife works in Paris.
And we all know nothing at all about who we are negotiating for just guessing and reading gossip.
Let's chill.
