It's Quiet - a new dawn

Bernardo Silva is one that's flown under the radar a bit considering the other Monaco players City have been linked with.

Maybe 3 at the back going to be used a bit more next season?

Also a bit surprised people are already consigning Kun to the bench. If we've just finished the season as we mean to start the next one, why did Pep put Sergio straight back into the starting line up after he came back from injury? He was our best player in those games too.

I'm hoping to see more of Kun and Jesus starting together -- especially in the big games. Really like the combination and goals they bring. They are the two guys in the squad --as it is now -- likely to start that have a real hunger and knack for goals. Generally all the really top teams in the world have three of these type starting.

Alexis still for the third goal scoring threat? Some have said this is less likely with the Bernardo Silva (probable) signing even though he seems to be more creator than finisher. But let's say for argument's sake they are on the money.

Apart from Kun, the goal scoring forwards we are most likely to keep are all young inexperienced lads. Gabriel has goal scorer written all over him. Sane could be that moving forward. Sterling not there yet. Kelechi's a scorer but not likely to start (if he stays). Surely some experience is needed.

If not Alexis, then who?

Should Pep be happy with the Sane-Aguero-Jesus combination (which has looked classy), is there an experienced goal scorer running around that would fit and be willing to play a rotation role for these three? Someone who would not be another Nolito (strange one that one, seemed OK at the start)?

Plenty of inane ramblings there, I know, but thoughts anyone?

Sane (21)
Jesus (20)
Sterling (22)
Stones (22)
B. Silva (22)

Possibly:

Mendy (22)
Ederson (23)
Fabinho (23)

City setting themselves up for the future.

Ederson would be 24, Silva 23 and Mendy 23 before a ball is kicked though, with Fabinho turning 24 shortly too.

not to take away from the general theme though - they are replacing 32 and 33 year olds.

So Kun has an offer on the table and is considering it? Then Mbappe is back on?

Personally I doubt it, which club outside of China could afford Kun (and would want to sign him)? Still it's a day for surprises, so you never know.

IMO Mbappe is for sure off the table now. No way Monaco move on so many of their successful squad. Keeping Mbappe would rightly be spun as a victory for them and a player to build on etc. Next year for him IMO.

I'm interviewing Marti Perarnau for our podcast next week. Just talked to him. City's incoming player plan has been in place for about 3 months now. We will 100% be signing a striker. Pep wants a lot more goals in the side.

Wow. Sanchez? Has to be. Trail's gone cold on Aubameyang and we haven't been linked to anyone else in the position.

Have to wonder if there will be an exit up front beyond Nolito and Kelechi.

It's not quiet.

Should be the new thread title.

I don't think he'd ever betray Pep's trust and tell me a name. But it's certainly interesting that on top of Silva there'll be another attacking player, as well as all the defensive reinforcements. That 300 million spend looks conservative now.

That was just my guess mate exciting times for sure!

My guess is Sanchez too, but as with the Silva signing i'm prepared for the unexpected.
