To be honest, next season there will be times when we'll have players on the bench who can argue they should be starting. Its the only way to be a top club. Guardiola needs to look to the bench and be able to see players who'll come on and change a game.

it looks amazing on paper. my worry is keeping all the players happy and lack of defensive players on the bench. i dont think we have a first 11 anymore, the whole squad is the first team.

If, as has been suggested, there are a bunch of signings to be announced in the next week, it will be good to get the important business done early. Pep bemoaned the lack of preseason last year. As a result, the players had to learn his way on the run during the season and we suffered to an extent for it.

Some pretty pretty football coming with a good preseason drummed into all the lads -- new and returning.
