It's Quiet - a new dawn

You are one miserable tw.....person.
Not miserable, just saying it as I see it. We could have built an empire after 2012. We built a Maicon-shaped sandcastle, ergo, in my "miserable" opnion, we're not the lure we could and should have been. Trophies, specifically league titles and champs' league wins, allied to top-dollar contracts, are what the very, very best want. We can offer the latter but the former is still a gaping lacuna that we have yet to fill. Let's hope next season begins to rectify that. I have high hopes.

Saw this and thought of this thread!

Apologies...but do I win a prize for being the first to write that this video is 110% verified, confirmed and true...my sources tell me that this video
will be released by teatime tomorrow - unless, of course, it isn't

Sorry you didn't use some form of cryptic message preferably a video in which we can all guess at the significance of the lyrics!

Walker and Sanchez are gona be ballache deals to get done quickly if at all.

Spurs and Arsenal will drag us through the media mud before any deal gets close. Wont be an enjoyable process for us at all signing these.
walkers deal has been done.a well known poster(mcrjon) posted about a week or so ago and if he said its done, its done.

Any time I see an "ITK" say a deal is done, I can only assume it means club and player have reached personal terms. Which is probably pretty easy for most players with us. We still haven't gone through the public bid rejections English clubs like to do against us to raise the price, that has happened with literally every one of our players we've bought from other Prem teams.

Think Walker will go well into late July before resolution.

When is City's first pre- season fixture?

Would like to think majority of transfers are sorted by then and new players are registered, able to play for City.

I never take it in the literal sense mate....when I read the words "its done" I get the feeling the player might have told us he wants to come and we've come to some sort of an agreement on parameters of personal terms with that player but still need to agree fee with their club. If we went back to the Laporte thread, I'm sure we were told many times "its done" but we all know how that ended. Until its signed and officially confirmed by the club anything can happen. I agree its "likely" Walker signs with us but unless he's put pen to paper I not going to get a tattoo just yet!;)

We will build that empire, and would have done so sooner had the powers that be not pulled the rug through FFP, media pressure and downright jealousy. As a result we ended up with a Maicon-shaped sandcastle as you so eloquently put it.

Now tell me, despite not having gathered the trophy haul that YOU think we should have gathered by now (conveniently ignoring the roadblocks that have been put in our way), how do you think we have managed to land the most coveted manager in the World (please don't suggest only because he is a friend of Txixi), attract some of the best players in World (including those that were nailed on for Barca and Real), and continually beat the so called big boys to targets that they want?

City are a big deal in footballing circles mate. Get used to it.

Some of the clues with respect to transfers Pep's left us from his pressers/interviews:

  1. Not enough killer instinct in the team to convert the innumerable chances created. Missing Jesus, and Sterling/Silva/Kdb not scoring enough
  2. Strikers not being tall enough so as to allow another dimension to our attack through crossing/heading,
  3. Our fullbacks too old and can't be asked to run up and down all game. Praising Monaco's fullbacks for 'bombarding' and 'arriving' all at the right time in attack. Praising Walker/Rose as the best full-back pairing in PL,
  4. Not being able to control second balls,
  5. Not having too many players with personality, like Yaya, in the team,
  6. Missing Kompany a lot in the season.
Apart from point 5, which admittedly has no quick fix, which other ones do y'all think we've made a concerted effort (at least from media rumblings) to address and with which players (either purchased, or still linked)?

Also, am I missing anything that Pep has raised as a concern?

I think it means we have agreed with all parties and that it's registration only left to do.
