My picks for this window would be Alves, Mendy, Verratti, Walker and Sanchez.

That would be incredible. At least 4 are likely but seems like Verratti will be Barca bound.
 
I think we will sign Alves, Walker, Alba, Grimaldo and Sanchez. I think Mendy deal might fall off.

To be honest i don't find Veratti all that amazing everyone says he is. He is good, but nothing out of this world certainly not a 100M player.

Anyway, back on topic:
Having been excited by the signing - and debut performance of - one Steve Mcmanaman, I'm willing to accept whomever trots out in the shirt, at whatever exorbitant cost, content in the knowledge that I know the sum total of fuck all about football, predicting the future or (crucially) deciphering cryptic musical clues.
Through this enlightenment, I have reached a personal space where I can forego the urge to get giddy because some overpaid wanker may or may not pledge his undying loyalty to the club I love for the stipulated duration of his contract, be upset because another, just like him, has failed to do so or (and this really is the crucial bit) denigrate others who do enjoy speculating on this sort of thing.
I just like lurking in this thread and hoping that we might improve upon last year's squad. If we do great. If we don't, we've had worse days.
I'm no role model and it's not a state of supreme Zen or anything but I thoroughly recommend it. Not least because all of the childish bickering is boring and Christ knows the off-season is boring enough, as it is.
 
I am expecting us to sign Walker, Bertrand, Alves and Sanchez.

I think we will miss out on Mendy and Mbappe.

I think if it's anybody we will miss out on its Walker.

We have Fernandinho who can cover at right back wheras at left back we have nobody. Plus it's clear to see Pep doesn't want Aleks anywhere near that left back position, the Leicester away game cemented that I feel.
 
People keep ignoring the Qatari situation right now... No way we do any business with them whatsoever. Even the barest shred of business between Qatar and UAE could create a huge issue for both families politically. Seriously it's like the Cuban Missile crisis out there right now.

When I last flew back from Oman, which was last year so not related to this particular beef, the Sultan and the Qataris had a falling out so we had to do security all over again when we landed at Doha. They knew this would cause huge problems not worth it for either side but they didn't care, its all about throwing your weight around and saving face with these disputes. Think Economic Game of Thrones.

Also, I'm off the opinion that Paris was mentioned because Mendy is Parisian, not because a player was moving from PSG. Moscow was mentioned, not because Sanchez is Russian but because that's where he currently is. Just a theory.
