We want to cover our own back in case hes valued at £60m in two years time, we don't want to end up like Chelsea or United having to pay silly money to get one of our players back to the club. This does not mean the club don't see him as expendable in the here and now. I expect we would sell him for less money to a club we don't consider a rival but I would be very surprised if we would potentially miss out on one of our main targets because the other club wanted Kelechi as part of the deal.
If the buyout clause is genuine, we would not bend over for Arsenal. We have absolutely no need to. They have a problem with Sanchez, & it's their problem, not ours.
If we have a value on Kelechi & are insisting we won't transfer him, we would expect that value from Arsenal. If we don't get it. We potentially lose a shitload of money, to buy a player we can sign for free.
Otherwise, why not sell Kelechi, with the buyout clause, to someone else & just pay more for Sanchez ? Arse would snap our hand off to get this over, if we upped the fee.
