It's Quiet - a new dawn

We want to cover our own back in case hes valued at £60m in two years time, we don't want to end up like Chelsea or United having to pay silly money to get one of our players back to the club. This does not mean the club don't see him as expendable in the here and now. I expect we would sell him for less money to a club we don't consider a rival but I would be very surprised if we would potentially miss out on one of our main targets because the other club wanted Kelechi as part of the deal.

If the buyout clause is genuine, we would not bend over for Arsenal. We have absolutely no need to. They have a problem with Sanchez, & it's their problem, not ours.

If we have a value on Kelechi & are insisting we won't transfer him, we would expect that value from Arsenal. If we don't get it. We potentially lose a shitload of money, to buy a player we can sign for free.

Otherwise, why not sell Kelechi, with the buyout clause, to someone else & just pay more for Sanchez ? Arse would snap our hand off to get this over, if we upped the fee.

but how many times has it been mentioned marv that we want at least 3 full backs and a CB as well as sanchez?
I have seen a keeper and midefielder sign, and our interest in full backs is very obvious. As is our interest in Sanchez. The one position I haven't seen much interest in is a central defender. As long as it's on the agenda. I realise you can't sign players in a perfect order and all at once, but I don't see many bids for central defenders. The only real one seems to have been VVD which seems to have died for the moment

Did you see the bid for Bernado?

Me neither, worth bearing in mind the press are allowed to know what we want them to know. I suspect if we are after a defender CB then we won't alert anybody if possible and if they get a whiff there will be "Plausible Denial" followed by "Red Herring" followed by smoke and mirrors.

Gotta love silly season!

I think so too,if a deal has fallen apart we'd be reading about it in the press
That's my take on it too. Our business is smooth unlike other clubs scrambling for players anxiously with the media having attention eg. Liverpool & VVD.

Need a plane or two this week to liven things up. This is quiet and boring. Fuck, I'll have some of those gobshite Dembele, Auba and Martinez to City rumours again just for drama, if nothing else.

Do you mean this one?

That is more accurate but I think this one is more topical for our breed of supporter. ;-)

More like Pavlov's Dog at this point...

Schrödinger's cat is more appropriate given it's a shifty rumour of a Aguero being swapped for Sanchez. So we don't know if it is actually happening or if it would even be "good" if it did.

If City land all of their targets (Ederson, Bernardo, 4 full-backs, Alexis, a CB), there could be a ninth signing - a forward. [@Sammy_Goal]

City have no plans to bring in a central midfielder, meaning reports of a bid for William Carvalho are wide of the mark. [@Sammy_Goal]
