It's Quiet - a new dawn

I think the Bonucci transfer also highlights the fact that you only get one chance to join Pep.

Wasn't it his family who turned his head from moving to City last year?

It looked very likely he was joining last season.

He has a bad relationship with Allegri, apparently they had a fight during halftime in the CL final. He doesn't want to move outside Italy because of his family though, so Milan was the only suitable destination.

The relationship between Allegri and Bonucci has been sullied by a number of acrimonious exchanges often in the dressing room. It came to head in Cardiff at the HT interval ( as MOK correctly says) when it was 1-1. There was a considerable amount of spite, rancour and petulance between Alves, Bonucci and Barzagli as to 1st half tactics and performances. Allegri intervened and from all accounts verbally attacked Bonucci. It got back to Agnelli and that was it. As had happened with Vidal, who broke club rules and was sold quicksticks or Bayern Munich, Bonucci was toast.

Due to the illness of Bonucci's young child, a decision was made to remain in Italy. Juve would have preferred dealing with an English club for sale proceeds and not selling to a Serie A opponent. But tonight the deal wis done at repoerted figures ranging from €40m to €45m.

Juve will struggle to replace him.

Don't hear anything whatsoever still on a central defender of any kind.

Money still being prioritised elsewhere.

I also think there might be something in this link today re Reina.

I recall it was Napoli asking us to buy Rulli back recently, so we could sell him on to them?

Rulli's father was also on record this month stating his son was asked to be Ederson's understudy this season.

Quite plausible that during the Napoli interest in Rulli, we introduced the possibility of Bravo being available this window and we would also be open to Reina.

Plausible, yeah. Likely, i don't think so. Not an improvement and unless bravo really wanted to leave, which i think we would know by now if so, i don't see it happening.

Thanks for that info mate.

Good to see we got our act together today, we had no alternative.

Not impressed that we got to pre-season and need 3 full backs or even 4. That should not happen if Txiki is doing his job, however he has done well in regards to Sane and jesus in particular.

I wonder what impact losing Alves is going to have. That was a free. Does that mean we are going to have to drop one of our other targets, or is money no object. It will be difficult to get in left back and right back cover. I would be very tempted to not bother with right back cover and use Fernandinho as cover for that position. Left back cover is more important because Kolarov can't play there now, and Mendy has been injured a few times, and may even be injured now (he got injured playing against England). Bertrand might hesitate about coming, if we agreed a fee with Saints as it is World Cup year and he'd be the 2nd choice. I would go for young cover. There must be a lot of talented young players who will jump at the opportunity.

No central defensive cover being mentioned. boo!

But if we can get Mendy in, we can be confident of significant improvement. It would be 4 top players in and Jesus as well is effectively a new signing seeing as he played about 10 games for us last season.

Mbappe? That would be a dream signing.
