Nico paz from como seems like a bloody gem, he will be so wasted if he goes back to Madrid, even if he decides to go back, I'm sure madrid wouldn't mind us buying him. Why isn't he linked with anyone? Had a great season for como and still just 20 years old.

Can only include McAtee if you replace him as club trained, and we have room there anyway. We either need two spots for Echeverri and Reis, or they are moved out on loan, until that happens it isn’t one out one in, other than any of the 4 in the homegrown list.
Basically we have to move Walker ,Phillips, KDB, and one other only then is the free list one out one in.

Explain to me why kdb and walker/Phillips are related? Why would kdb being here impact mgw and livramento signing? We all know kdb is gone anyway so reijnders comes in. You are only buying a keeper if ederson goes. So there's 4 signings already? Gundo goes can make it 5. Am I being dumb or? Which is why MGW is being signed and I hope livramento can be done too. We have to buy the best available home grown players or we severely hamper our ability to have any meaningful squad depth.

Why would livramento and MGW need to be in the 17 list which is non HG? I've already given you the players who would leave to make way for foreign signings. Kdb, gundo and potentially ederson/ortega. On top of kdb is providing you are including echeverri/reis right? Reis is going on loan 100% pep isn't selling akanji so he's gone. So it's only echeverri, he takes kdbs spot then. If ederson leaves, 1 for 1. Gundo absolutely should go, reijnders in. However I can still see echeverri going on loan and reijnders taking kdbs spot. Mgw replaces grealish and livramento replaces Walker or mcatee or whoever it doesn't matter. Nunes actually could be sold totally forgot about him.

Reactive not proactive after trying to be net spend kings for the past few windows letting the squad fall apart

We have clearly been prepared to spend money on the right players in recent windows but have not always got them.
Apart from Haaland and Gvardiol we have clearly been prepared to spend money on Bellingham, Rice, Paqueta and recently Wirtz but just not been able to persuade them .

Right but they are a part of the signings in my original post that was talking about the overall total cost getting to 250m. Well yes, Reis and Echeverri could well go loan, in which case it becomes one in one out starting with KDB. Until Walker, Phillips and 2 others actually leave one way or another though it isn’t. My guess is Echeverri and Reis both stay and we would prefer 2 players like Gundogan, Kovacic, maybe Nunes or Bernardo to leave and make the spaces, but that’s probably harder to do.

We should get decent money for any departures. They ain’t bad players just not at the required level.

There have been plenty of good players we have got.
Lets hope this window we get a couple of decent full backs a couple of midfielders and replace any keepers who may leave with quality.

@twosips made a good point on his recent video that I hadn’t really thought about, around europe but especially in Germany there is a narrative about City being JCLs with new money and not a proper club compared to liverpool, madrid,barcelona and myths about anfield etc. Unfair obviously but some players, will buy into that, Bellingham probably did and looks like Wirtz does, and in particular some of those playing in Germany. Think theres a lot to it, Haaland being a City fan was obviously a different matter.
It is what it is not much we can do, maybe once the charges go away and the air clears a bit it ill start to change.
