It's Quiet the £250m return

Still not better than Ait Nouri, Trafford , Reijnders, Cherki,Marmoush,. Yes I’m including Marmoush from January.

That’s true actually, we made some great signings. The biggest disappointment for me was Wirtz going there after we’d made the effort to fly him over and show him around. That’s what has made this transfer window seem a bit shit.

But objectively, if we’d never shown interest in Wirtz and still signed Cherki, Reijnders, Marmoush, Ait-Nouri and Trafford then that’s one hell of a successful window.

We need a right back though, and some end product from Savinho, Doku and Bernardo.

Id take Wirtz in a heart beat and he is at least equal quality to the ones going

But what they may have done is replace quality with equal quality.....Kerkez has prem experience and looked good in a lesser team so he can improve again and has the traits that Robertson had

Frimpong aint TAA going forward ill give you that - TAA was poor defensively - Ive seen that Frimpong aint great either.

If they replace Nunez with Isak that is a huge upgrade - that is not even arguable

The issue I have is that if you look at who we are trying to replace or need to replace then its harder

KDB - ok you aint getting anyone his quality straight off - though if we had got Wirtz Id say you had the next best thing and someone who could become KDB levels - Cherki - is a complete Mavrick type player....could be the next Messi - could be the next Balotelli - it literally could go either way

Walker - we have zero replacement for

Gundo - reijnders - Looks absolute quality - great purchase

BUT - we need to replace at least one of our centre halves and that hasnt been done and we have no right back - if we can get at least a right back/defender in before the window closes Id say we were looking set but our list of defenders at present looks unbalanced:

Gvardiol - great player
Rico/Nunes - not good enough defensively either of them
Akanji - decent but seems to be going backwards and if that continues its worrying
Dias - great leader but form as been iffy for 12 months and could be exposed by having no right back
Stones/Ake - wont play enough games (esp Stones) to have an effect - If Stones can stay fit this changes the whole complexion but how likely is that?
Alt Nouri - quality player - im presuming the back up for him is Nico OReilly - who is good enough against some teams but not against the best. ...id use Nico Oreilly in some games to give Alt Nouri a rest
Khusonov - looks good - personally id play him at fullback above Rico and Nunes but I can see why Pep wont...he cant play the attacking role...Id also be tempted to test him in some games by dropping Dias and playing him next to Gvardiol
Reis - an unknown
I’m wondering if we might see O’Reilly at RB on occasion? He did really well covering LB last season.

We have great players, some will still leave in this window, but one thing I can say, I‘m looking forward to the season, really excited and I think the players are more than motivated, let‘s see how it goes, but what I can say, I give a fuck, which players the Dippers and other idiots bought, we will be okay, however the next season ends.

I don’t doubt Doku will have a great season, can see it being huge for him. My concern is Savio, we definitely saw early flashes from him at the start of the season, but all in all he was pretty poor after that. I know he’s a young lad, but he needs to step it up this year and make one of the wing slots his own.

He is a great prospect and I think it will do him a favour having to compete with Bobb, even though Bobb is more naturally a 10, IMO.

I don't think Cherki is a maverick i think hes just been labelled due to sporting director comments and a piece of shit owner, I dont think a maverick player would go and get a Psychologist , a physio and a Nutritionist. Also if you look at what his team mates and training staff say he's a hard worker and is always working hard in training.

A few comments from lyons owner calling Cherki little prick and a former sporting director saying that all he thinks about is himself, when it was then contradicted by the training staff and coaches is why he's be labelled a maverick like Tarrabt, Fekir , Nasri etc also that he's from the suburbs.

His whole time at Lyon he's carried the team, while Lyon was going through financial difficulties, a new manager every few months and a new owner. Even with those disruptions he's put up crazy numbers.

First time in his career he's now with a stable environment and stable manager. Lyon finally had a sort of stable environment last season and he got in the team of the year in ligue un , dribbler of the year and europa league team of the season. He put up his best numbers in his career. Numbers that resemble Kev at Wolfsburg.

He's already scored and assisted for us. 4 games played 1 goal and 1 assist. His stats are already absurd and all he's played is the club world cup. He's creating 3 to 4 chances per 90 minutes.

Agree seems unthinkable but if both Gundo & Kova stay it's almost inevitable - who else makes way from the free list?
I’ll be supremely disappointed if all 3 of Bernie, Gundo and Kova are still here at the end of the window. Obviously Bernie is staying now he’s skipper, so one of those other two just have to go, sale or loan.

The important thing is that Pep shouldn't be disappointed. Let Pep decide the players he needs.

Because he's left footed.

I know Pep loves a round peg in a square hole, but a left-footed central midfielder at right back would be pushing it.

Got family who live in dipper land and they are of the opinion that Liverpool have learned from City”s mistake of not strengthening big time after a title winning season.
You mean learned from their own mistake of winning the league once then subsequently losing it to us four straight times?

I wouldn't IF it meant missing out on Cherki.

I think that Wirtz is the more proven player, more consistent over the last 2 years and harder working.

But...Cherki's potential seems higher to me. Talent wise he's exceptional.
Wirtz was consistent because Leverkusen had a very good coach, system, management

Lyon changes coaches like socks, management sucks, they sold everyone decent, i doubt Wirtz would do better than Cherki in these conditions

I think even Liverpool may have preferred to get Cherki at 30m than Wirtz at 115m.
