It's Quiet the £250m return

There's a lot of folklore circulating that Ederson is a shit shot stopper & Donnarumma is shit with his feet mate. It's just not true.

They both come out on top of those considered the world's elite keepers.

Ederson is one of my favourite ever City players, and arguably one of our most important players (I'm not saying best) ever, because of the way we've played the last ten years. He's been integral

Doubt we could pull it off but Ake and Akanji to leave and Guehi coming in would be a good move.

A RB would also be nice if there's a quality one out there somewhere (and available).

Would prefer Ederson and Savinho to stay but if either go, they will need replacing.
I agree, I’d love Guehi here.

But using Ake as an example he’ll get minutes at both LB and LCB. And having him on the bench yesterday meant LB was covered with RAN getting injured.

I actually like Ake at LB 66% of the time. I feel like he’s a great defender, has pace, can handle 1vs1s, has great control which helps under pressure and in the build up but he offers nothing offensively in the final third.

I guess Josko also covers that hybrid role and definitely offers more going forward.

I would be curious to see if Madrid play ball on Rodrygo this late in the window.

If we sell Savinho, and Madrid don't play ball, and Rodrygo does not really push for the move, I could see us go back to Milan for Leao

All names I see here are LW. Where are the RW? Thats why savinho is that important. There‘s hardly any RW out there

To be honest I could see us not moving even if selling Savio.

Obviously the plan will be to get Rodrygo and imagine we will have got that pretty much sorted before Savio goes.

Let’s be honest there are several reasons it’s a slow deal and us doing the groundwork for Rodrygo at the same time probably has added an element of delay to this.

The Rodrygo deal strikes me as more intermediaries pushing this.

I would be curious to see how interested he is in actually moving. Arsenal supposedly passed on him, and I wonder if this is an intermediary pushing him trying to get a pay day as opposed to him actually wanting the move. I feel if he was really interested in leaving Madrid, the Madrid media would be all over it, and it seems they are saying he wants to stay, which would also explain why the Savinho deal slowed down.

Yeah there seems to not be much news coming from a place that reports if a player has diarrhoea on the front page of the local newspaper.

Was some chatter about Rodrygo asking around early in the summer but went no where, I like to think it was because we had no plans selling Savio and this would be a reaction. We’ve all heard how he loves pep and respects city.

Savio still wanting to go says something. Pep is clearly all in on Bobb - and rightly so. So Bobb/Foden/Cherki/Marmoush/Doku all in front of him. If he doesn’t have it in him and a team will pay good money we will let him go, I just feel we won’t over react if we can’t get Rodrygo. I do feel it’s being factored into the Savio deal but still could see an issue occur. I really wouldn’t be shocked of we sold Savio, didn’t get the Rodrygo deal over the line but went back in January.

Certainly possible, but I think we saw what happened with Alvarez last year, when we let him go and didn't replace him.

And this year the situation is not nearly as optimistic as it was a year ago, If you sell Savinho, at the bear minimum you have to add something to the team if you are serious about winning this year.

I think what we do will be telling about where the club believes they are in terms of competing.

If we want to compete seriously this season, we’ve got to bring in more players: a solid keeper, wc winger, and a proper right-back.

I think we can certainly get the keeper we need, Possibly the World class winger. The RB spot is going to be an issue, even with non-HG options, there isn't much available

Yeah I 100% agree we should.

Marmoush is away in Jan for Afcon so have to something in Jan if we don’t this summer after a sale. We are savvy with deals normally, some would suggest we’ve become too focused on certain areas and have missed huge opportunities because of it.

I hope it gets sorted, I’m confident it will especially as Viana has been on fire so far. When Txiki came on board we recruited, when Pep came here we recruited, Viana is not done yet in my opinion.

Bobb is the only player in competition with Savinho, as they're the only RW (foden at a push, but I expect he's more earmarked to share 10 with Cherki).

As for Pep being "all in" on Bobb, we've seen how Pep cycles through players in a season, if Savinho doesn't go it's not hard to imagine them sharing minutes, and if Rodrygo comes in Bobb will be firmly back up.

Let him get up to speed after injury, the guy only has 7 G/A (1 PL goal) and 34 apps at the age of 22, he's getting hyped up so much it'd be best if he didn't go through a mcatee style boom-bust cycle. He'll require patience this season too.

Yeah I just feel it’s about narratives. Bobb has started both games and Pep raves about him. He didn’t play last year and now this year Savio wants out?

I do agree a lot of rotation will happen especially after the window when we are more settled.

Foden and Cherki are 10’s and I was delighted to see pep open to playing Cherki there yesterday but equally amazed he went for it so early on and against spurs. We will see a lot of games with a more structured midfield of Nico G (Rodri when fit)/Reijnders/Bernado. We will clearly play Foden and Cherki wide at times.

But all those arguments mean nothing if still bringing a player in, they’d still have to compete with all these players. It’s just all mindset. I’m amazed Savio has been completely excluded- something has happened and we will eventually hear about it. He played loads last year and if we didn’t want him to leave a public praise from Pep would give him the reassurances he wants.

We want to deal him, Viana has a different way of negotiating and maybe he like us all hates spurs/levy as well.
