It looks like Akanji, Gundo and Ortega are going to stay. It looks like the comfort and financial rewards trump any desire to play regular football. This has put major spanner in our transfer works.

Meanwhile we're still stuck with Nunes and Rico as our right back options. In relation to the Donnarumma signing, everyone is saying he can't play out from the back. This seems to be counter intuitive to everything Pep believes in, so I don't quite get the signing.

Why are we only shopping for young players? Excluding Reijnders most of the players we've signed are under 23. Why not go for more established players with experience? Not talking in the 30 bracket but 25 to 28 bracket.

Let's call a spade a spade, this window had the potential to be a barnstormer and has turned into a shitshow.

We've signed a couple of good players, one of which is out for the next 2 months and 2 goalkeepers which imo wasn't a "problem position".

No CB, no RB, no haaland second string/support striker, no marquee signing.....

Akanji, gundo, kova, Phillips, Ortega still on the payroll....

Savinho, doku, Bobb, marmoush are the current creative force in the building that hardly strike fear into mid table teams nevermind the top sides.

Meanwhile our competitors are going big on quality signings and look a million miles away from us.

I keep hearing "transition" mentioned.... With the money we've blown on also-ran players recently the only thing we are transitioning into are top 6 scrappers. Lightweight.

Very very frustrating after all of the posturing in post-season interviews.

Looks like we're going to have to wait a bit longer to clear the decks. Can't really blame players for sticking to the contracts we handed to them.

Can see Gundogan going still, especially with Turkish market closing later.

Arsenal look scared to win it, Liverpool going two feet in but they still have succession problems coming up. We're going to have to suck up an extended transition that will feel a bit like a missed opportunity
