It's Quiet the £250m return

This has to be sarcasm? Surely...

When was the last time we've done what Liverpool have done? Hahahahahahaha

We won 4 league titles on the bounce, They've won 2 in 35 years ffs...

As for the "we've never made a statement signing".

Have you forgotten about Erling Haaland?

Seriously cop on, Or in you're case Kop on.
See my original post where I said Haaland is the only one.

I appreciate we've had the success that we've had but that is purely down to Pep.

No other manager in the world would have done what we've done with the squad of players we've had/have.

So tell me when was the last time we won the league and then signed a player that is regarded as one of the best in their position? Apart from Haaland?

The answer is never

Watched him a couple of times this season. Saw him against Leverkusen, Feyenoord & Bratislava (i think) in the champions league. He didn't really stand out to be honest. Tidy on the ball but that's about it

Dream signings? Well I think we need

2 full backs

Frimpong
Theo Hernandez

At least 2 midfielders. So of these 3.

Wirtz
Tchouaméni
Cherki

I also think we need at least 1 winger. Either:

Rodrygo
Leao

Frimpong and Wirtz are clearly signing for the dippers so not much point having them on your list.

Tchouameni is a DM so what happens to Rodri and Gonzalez?

People aren't after logic mate, some want statement signings just for the sake of it, so they can dick-measure rival fans.
Do you really believe that to be true!

C.mon!

Its about wanting the best for the club and team

The signing of some players whether they are known or not I get....but others just dont seem to fit in

I said when we signed Greaish that it was a mistake and that he didnt provide what we need. Now no matter what his personal trophy cabinet now looks like he had very little to do with our sucess despite his ammout of appearnaces..he didnt affect games as he wasnt creative enough. I said the same about Phillips.

A an opposite, I loved the signing of Alvarez for instance- you could see he would do well...and score goals

The same part of me looks at MGW and its the same - he is more dynamic than Grealish Id absolutely agree and can see some of what he brings in terms of physicality but at the same time he is not technically elite.....

I get that you think different andI hope you are right and I am wrong BUT it has nothing to do with rival fans or anything else other than wanting the best players to play for the club we all love.....MGW for me doesnt fit into that bracket....not even close....

Would he get into any version of our midfield of ours except last years? I dont think he even gets close over any single player that has played in his position....

Our standards seem to have been lowered as people are saying he is an improvement on last year - yes he is but it aint hard really...last year is not the standard we should be looking to be better than - we should be looking at replicating the standard of the treble winning team or the 18/19 team. Last season was our worst performance wise under Pep since his first...we need to be steps above that and MGW doesnt get into ANY team of ours in the last 8 years other than last year

We are lucky we have Rodri!

Anyway if that’s the midfield pep is going for next season it seems we are shifting our style of play to be a bit more like klopp’s Liverpool? That’s not a bad thing. In fact if we have a fast winger (Doku) and an inside forward (Marmoush/rodrygo) we would be very similar and I can see that formation getting the best out of Haaland.
How are we going to shift styles of play if teams still put 10 behind the ball

That is simply an opinion. Stop trying to convince yourself it's fact

Why the feck is everybody worried about statement signings??? And getting the best that's out there (apparently out there) as far as I see it 1 club does this it's Madrid. Tell me how many these clubs have made recently.
Arsenal
Chelsea
Dippers
Rags

Ourselves I can say we have signed 2 that were very highly courted by the very top teams.
Haaland
Gvardiol
You buy players that you need some with potential some ready made and some world class the best fit for your system/team.

Loan him out really? Sav gets a weird rep. on here.
I'm not saying we have to get rid of him or anything, he is young and has shown some skill at times. He is clearly a talent and I would certainly not rule out him eventually making it here. But, he is an attacking player that has 2 goals in 45 appearances in the City shirt. Those are awful numbers. A loan might not be such a bad idea, could do wonders for his development.

He's also got 12 assists which are better numbers than anyone else chances per 90 he's on par with Salah in the PL. Be daft to send him away imo. Far better suited to letting him settle and be the backup as was the plan this season (but form/injuries fucked that)
