It's Quiet the £250m return

Hope we leave the MGW deal alone.
When the pressure was on v Chelsea he went completely AWOL and it looked as if the pressure of the occasion really got to him.
Good player in an average team but certainly not worth the numbers being touted for City.
You’re going off one game?

Have a look at the worlds softest Viking in finals if thats your metric

We need good players, from wherever, who ideally are capable of playing different styles of football. Quietly confident that Reijnders and Gibbs-White would thrive playing expansive football, whereas Cherki would give us even more options when facing the low block. Up to the management, however, to devise systems that get the best out of all, and the changes in the backroom suggest we are moving away from what we have become accustomed.

Has anyone done the “17 list”? Just interested to see who I don’t think will still be in it.

The advantage of MGW is that he would almost certainly improve City's midfield because he has the experience of playing in the Premier League which is far more intense than leagues like Serie A and La Liga. The one problem I have with signing players like Reijnders and Cherki is that they may look perfect on their stage but MGW has performed over 2 seasons in the PL.

Up until a fortnight ago, I didn't know who Reijnders and I don't know much about Cherki either but just look at the the quality of teams like Athletic Bilbao and Real Betis vs Man Utd and Chelsea. Apparently Antony is tearing it up in La Liga but he couldn't get a kick against Cucurella. Savinho scored goals for fun last season in La Liga. They gave him space.

There are top players in Europe but there is an advantage to buying players from your own league.
Most player that leave United excel. It is not about the players it is about the club

In the prem, none of Savinho, Reis or Khusanov need registering

Foden, McAtee are too old for the B list they would be HG

My guess is from the 17 Gundo goes and either Akanji or Reis on loan. That frees up two spots for Cherki and Reinders.

From the 4 Grealish and Stones, with a hg player coming in.

All the current on loan playes need to have thor futures sorted too.

Not sure what the trenches have to do with anything, but you do you.

The point I was trying to make was to pick up words from the previous poster, which is why my post started with “You said a mouthful there!”

As for your thoughts on my vision, it looks like two full backs and the KDB replacement we wanted are ALL going to Liverpool, and Chelsea just won a Euro pot and made the CL next season with the youngest team in the PL and a Pep acolyte as their coach.

One club is the PL champions and the other is a club with deep pockets that operates in the nicest part of The Big Smoke…which is not to be sniffed at.

Now, wtf were you saying about trenches? Are we at war??!!
Chelsea wining the European equivalent of EFL Trophy & scrapped into champions league spot on the last day & you think they've in a strong position than we are, seriously. They've spent the last four years throwing bucket loads of cash at players & are still a basket case of a clubs. Delap will score goals but he's not the striker to turn them into genuine title challengers

Had the rags won the Europa League & got UCL through the back door would you be saying they're in a better position than us ?

Thanks mate, appreciated.

Seems the club world cup squads can include up to 35 players.

So we can add Jerky and Raindeers and a few more ahead of that. But at least 2 or however many get added will have to leave permanently or on loan or be omitted from the CL by the end of the window.
Do they serve Reindeer Jerki in the Green Man

The CL squad has always been the benchmark and what the club work to, and always likely will be.

Think players like Reis and Echeverri took the hit this half of the season to complete their January moves, but can't see that happening again for a full season. No chance Savinho gets omitted.

Foden and McAtee are not HG. They are CT. But that category I did put CT or B-list, and it is immaterial to the limit we are at.

i think you’ll see more than that go personally.

I reckon 2 out of Gundo, Bernie and Kova will depart.

Reis on loan.

Then one more that could be someone like Nunes or Akanji.

That’d create the 4 gaps that I reckon will get filled by Cherki, Reijndeers, and then 2 full backs like Ait Nouri and Livramento - or does Livramento go in the home grown 4 if we ship out one of Stones or Grealish? If that’s the case then potentially MGW could also come in to that slot too if both Stones and Grealish went?
