It's Quiet the £250m return

Suggest we start buying players Pep does trust, as we're spending a lot of money on players he then rarely plays (Nico and Khusanov) and can throw Nunes as a midfielder into that (and Phillips).

Not sure what the issue is, but there seems to have been a few players recently where he seems to give them a couple of games before deciding they're not for him. That's not a sustainable approach and no point buying MGW, Livramento or anyone else if he's going to do the same.
By contrast, he's played Reijnders, Cherki, and Ait-Nouri consistently since they arrived. There have been numerous 'odd' buys in the previous windows, but I'm hopeful that we're now headed in the right direction.

So, how much more money do we have to spend before we're not in a transitional phase ?

I hope Jack is right here. Giving our new, young players a chance and moving on the old guard is the best way to strengthen going forward.

Only Gundo will leave from the old-guard.

Bernardo is captain and Ederson doesn't have the suitors he thought he would have in my opinion.

Stones and Ake will see out their remaining deals because their wages are just too high, their injury concerns and we need the HG numbers.

Only other player maybe would be Akanji, but he can play right back.

I have real concerns that the club will cash in on one of O'Reilly or Bobb. Hope not.

I wonder if Bournemouth might be tempted to come in for Ake at the right price. Looks like they’re losing a couple of first choice defenders from last season and though they usually go for a younger profile, he’s still highly thought of down there
If Khusanov is not deemed a starter, then we should look to loan him there.

As I've just said in another thread, the team that starts the season is going to look a lot different to the one that played this morning
I wouldn't be so sure.

Nobody on here will be surprised to see Bernie and Gundogan starting in midfield against Wolves away.

Doku and Savinho on both wings and Nunes right back.

Ake's skill set are a lot harder to replace especially as Gvardiol is error prone!

So Ake might be beneficial to keep for now!

Time will tell I guess, a pre-season to come which will change things a bit
