It's Quiet the £250m return

The only thing worse than not getting rid of Akanji, Stones, Gundogan, Grealish etc. this season would be if the club makes the biggest mistake ever and extends Bernardo Silva’s contract. The guy plays every game and every minute no matter how useless he is—and let’s be honest, he’s been unplayable for two seasons now. Meanwhile, better and younger players have to sit, watch, and deal with it. How are they even supposed to stay motivated when Pep’s favorite gets to play all the time no matter how bad he is...

And I’m afraid that’s exactly what’s going to happen. It feels like the club is heading in the wrong direction. Luis Enrique told PSG not to sign anyone over 28—and look where they are now. Meanwhile, we’re out here rewarding our old players with new contracts and game time.

Very good, you will catch a few I guess.
Could you tell me which 'old' players have been rewarded with new contracts?

man i took like a week's break from social media after the al hilal game and i am shocked (well, not so shocked) everyone have completely and utterly lost their mind. what on earth is happening? So we lost a game that we deserved to win, big fucking whoop. Squad is still great and we played some amazing football this tournament. One ultra efficient team scoring every single chance they got doesn't change that.

Again, you absolute weirdos who take posts from a month and a half ago, immediately after we briefed giving up on wirtz, before knowing who we are going to land instead, when it seemed like the alternative was morgan gibbs fucking white. since then, we landed 3 absolute ballers and looked great in the club world cup, so fucking spare me.

genuine weirdo psychos in this forum sometimes. I don't know why you in particular keep harassing me but you should get a life

i swear im not taking a shot at anybody in particular but sometimes i wonder why the club is satisfied at getting cheaper b listers instead of like more sure things. id rather pay upwards of 100 mil on a known commodity than gamble on a couple of kids with potential for 50. Besides Haaland and Gvardiol i feel the recruitment hasnt been great, doku, cherki savinho have potential and are relatively young but are have a lot of question marks at this point, khusanov and nico also the same...Nouri fits as a wingback, not so sure how will he do as a left back...it will take a perfect storm for all of those to hit, that to me ia also risky but maybe we should had moved for other players earlier i dont know, just venting

No it's easier than you think.

1. Tell players they will not be registered as they're not in our plans. (how Chelsea does it)

2. We've made a lot of net spend over the past 3 years.. we shouldn't be afraid to use it on cutting away the dead weight!

3. So loan whoever that can be loaned somewhere.. or terminate the contract.

World Cup year pal, people like Grealish etc need games if they want to go.
I hope you are both correct but let's wait and see.

There is question marks over every transfer that is the nature of the beast, a known commodity means nothing when nunez signed for the dippers for 80m he was a known commodity, hed been tearing it up in the cl and in the portugese league look what happened there, when the rags signed casemiro he was a multiple time cl winner and brazil international look what happened there. There are multiple examples of known commodities not being the real deal at other teams including some known commodities that we have signed. What has happened here is that you have started to believe the press like quite a few on here that every single player that our rivals have signed is going to be a world beater and make them exponentially better and every single player that we sign isnt good enough for a pub team and will be a failure.

There is no such thing as a known commodity in transfers whether it be for 120m or 1.2m what there is, is hopes and expectations and sometimes those will be met and sometimes those will not be met, our current balon d'or winner would have been considered a b lister by your metric. Dont make the mistake of equating price to value as in football it is never that simple. However if you want to go down that route lets do that and say dippers 1 billion spent 2 titles in the last 10 year, the rags a billion spent 0 titles but hilarity for all of us so theres some value there, the tarquins 850m spent and a charity shield and a dog called win, city 1 billion spent 7 titles, a treble, the greatest single season in pl history. Id say our recruitment is pretty damn good unless you work for msm or the cartel.
