It's Quiet the £250m return

I dont think the dippers are remotely thinking about the 4 in a row right now. They are doing whats best for them, we are doing whats best for us. A RB is all we need in my head, I don't know what else the club can do this season, we are already loaded with players everywhere for now and I would rather give them another season.
We need a RB and a swing fullback who can play on either side. Cut the CBs down to 5 by moving 2 of Stones, Ake, or Akanji. Gundo needs to go. And the manager needs to get his head screwed on straight or nothing else will matter.

Not to mention the number of injuries to first team players that the club could not have foreseen or planned for
Can we all stop with the excuses? We had some injury problems no doubt but we also fell victim to poor planning, simple as. It's not the end of the world but we need to get back on the beam. The sooner the better...

Look at our activity since the treble. resting on our laurels and letting others catch up and pass us out. letting Gundo go only to resign him a year later, Not moving on walker stones and others. signing Doku Nunes for big money with neither nowhere near good enough for us. Stumbling over the line in the title race the squad was at its end. then deciding yano what we dont need anything lets go again. just add in a young brazilian new to the league. Then we have our disaster 6 months, our erratic Janurary panic window with only Marmoush good enough. Then move onto our shit CWC ,and Now weve ended up with an extra large squad with no one knowing where they stand. I say it exactly as i see it I dont post for likes
Hard to argue other than I think you are prematurely writing off Nico G. What's that tell us? Basically all true...

If you are going for projects, at least go for projects like Baleba from Brighton, Chevalier from Lille. Players who you know can compete and play at the PL/CL level.

*Edit* Put aside the HG quota, these are just examples
You think the club are buying players they don’t think can compete at CL /PL level? Why would they do that then.

Can we just let last season go? It is done. It is over. It is very obvious the club is in the process of change. Can we simply look forward to the season ahead without the fatiguing analysis of the past?
Here here. Some are really of the opinion we should win every match or heads should roll. And whilst we're at it, can people let go of the fact that Palmer is now a Chelsea player.

I don't agree with every point but I agree with most of that.

We rightfully had faith in the club for years because they rarely made a mistake but for whatever reason the past few years have been very hit and miss.

Personally I've no confidence in City any more. I think a lot of people are being revisionist when it comes to our performances. We were beyond bad last season on so many aspects of play. The most frustrating part for me was the lack of creativity and goalscoring. (I believe in attack being the best form of defense).

I think Pep's tactics are strangling us and I think we are missing leadership. But I have hope. Just buckets and buckets of hope.
For me it comes down mainly to Pep. If we get a decent RB and stay relatively healthy we "must" compete on all fronts with the talent at hand. So many on here underestimate the quality of our squad. Pep has been a great manager, no doubt, but ya don't have to be a miracle worker to win with the talent he's had at his disposal. Just look at the amount of our players in key roles for their nations each and every international break. We've never been an underdog (until now) under Pep. I'll go with wait and see...

Let's not lose sight of the initial point made here - that the club Chose to stagnate and that the board are all happy about that.

Whether you believe it was poor planning or this perfect storm that happened all at once, or anywhere inbetween - I'm sorry, but I disagree the club are not bothered and just happy to stop at the treble and chill for the next wee while. As claimed.

The drop off in quality from the 100 points and treble seasons to now is huge. Hoping we sign a right back, still think we should have moved Gundogan, Bernardo and Kovacic on (i'm one of the people that would sign MGW) and we are praying that Doku or Savino are suddenly going to turn a corner and start putting up numbers like Mahrez/Sterling. I'm far from convinced.

Whilst a very sensible post and request, it seems that too many posters are intent upon harping back and assuming that nothing will change or not improve.

Pretty sure that Pep will have analysed the season overall and where he believes the fault(s) / factors arose to cause the clear decline in performances.

The fact that there has been a change in personnel in his team suggests that is prepared to change and adapt. And of course having a new DOF will also require some settling in - despite the belief that they disagree on personnel receruited.

But the naysayers will continue as it seems to make them happy, and of course is their prerogative.

But I am with you on this.

When we relied Mahrez/Sterling numbers, we didn't have Haaland. We had Gabriel Jesus. Doku/Savinho are not replacing those two like for like, they are part of how we now play with Haaland up top.

I think they are buying players who they are betting on developing into those types of players.

I think having 2-3 of those players is great, I think having as many of them as we do is a bit of a problem.
