I hope you're right, I really do but Robertson wasn't at his best so kerkez is a good replacement, Frimpong for Arnold is a fair swap, Wirtz is better than jota, Nunez was shite so getting rid is a positive for them before adding Ekitike. I agree about Wirtz and Robertson, not sure about Frimpong (better than TAA in his ability to dribble past defenders, but doesn't have TAA' passing ability, which was key to Liverpool's attack). Losing Nunez isn't a positive in itself, bodies matter, whether replacing him with Ekitike is progress only time will tell. Note that Marmoush had much better stats than Ekitike last season, and than Wirtz as well (who is touted as highly productive).

Also, no replacement for Diaz so far. He was great last season. Work rate clearly better than, say, Rodrygo.

Put him with those other 4 plus Haaland, Foden , Rodri, ,Gvardiol,Gonzalez,plus Guardiola and his new coaching team, new right back or no new right back I can’t wait for the season to start to see a new era start to emerge whether we win it this year or not. Posters living in fear of what liverpool do or don’t do isn’t changing that for me, not my concern.

Appreciate the measured reply, as a lack of this has kept me, by and large, off bluemoon over the summer.

Agreed, bodies do matter, but they've replaced one which they know doesn't work with one that potentially does.

I don't think our January/summer purchases are bad at all, I just look at theirs and see a natural rwb, a lwb, a kev replacement (not prime kev obviously) and if they pick up Rodrygo a winger that can potentially chip in with a few goals. Along with reindeers I think this is what we needed.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure for Liverpool to shit the bed this season, but realistically they've done some good business.

I think our front line options match anyone’s, midfield depends on Rodri’s fitness and Pep not overplaying oldies. allred Nouri gives us good options on left . We should be able to compete against anyone. I’ve seen Liverpools pre season games and their defence looked as poor as ours last season so hopefully that will continue
