It's Quiet the £250m return

One of the issues we faced last season was effectively a lack of goals outside of Haaland. Foden had a poor season by his standards but there were likely reasons for that, Alvarez left and wasn’t replaced until Marmoush arrived but
Doku (4), Savinho (1), Bernardo (4), KDB (4) and Grealish (1) had a combined total of 14 league goals between them.

Obviously Grealish and KDB are on the way out with Bobb and Cherki effectively taking their spots in the squad. But the fact remains Doku and Savinho haven’t scored enough goals. Looks like Savinho is the one being moved. It’s a shame because he has shown flashes of real potential.

If he’s replaced properly, I’d be on board with a sale. The fear is that we wait a window or 2 to replace him (see Alvarez, Kompany, Gundogan even Zinchenko and looks like Walker).

Grealish and McAtee moving is good news - thought we’d get more for JM but never mind. And not sure that £50m option will be triggered by Everton given they don’t usually hit those type of fees.

The more I’ve thought about Savinho, the more it makes sense. As long as we can replace him with somebody who is a more potent goal threat. I’d even be tempted to lure Riyad back on a rotation role!

We can’t have another season of Haaland being the only goal threat hence players like Grealish and Savinho - players with very minimal (existing) goal scoring ability - and them being replaced with genuinely good finishers in Cherki, Marmoush and even Bobb looks a good, composted finisher.

Bobb has 3 senior goals ever.

He's a great talent thats for sure. Some players just have it, Bobb appears to and deserves a chance to prove it

Yeah so he can hardly be classed as a seasoned finisher.

Even the Cherki calls - hes exactly what Savio was last year. 19 G/A in La Liga is way ahead of what Bobb (who's older) has done.

Bobb, not unlikely he will just be the next Lewis, bluemoon will love him until it's used to him then all of a sudden he'll be deadwood who'll never make it and we need a proven player.

While being a year older + not even 1500 pro minutes . Of course we ignore sav season at Girona and his assist record to strengthen the argument why Bobb is better

Sometimes you can tell who has composure and who doesn’t.

Can you imagine Savinho scoring that goal Bobb scored away at Newcastle a couple of seasons back? No chance.

Bobb shoots to score. Savinho shoots to hit the target. It seems like a minimal difference but it’s high impact.

I really think basing any decisions on how we imagine one very specific moment is a quick way to fall away from the very top.
