Thanks for that, most informative - we live and learn. I do remember their owner speaking about us in glowing terms a while back but clearly things may well have changed since then.

There was great affection from the Spaniards until Mubadala (rightfully) pulled out of the deal — they even sent former King Juan Carlos to the Etihad to try to save it. It’s no coincidence that Javier Tebas’s criticism of City intensified after the deal fell through. So, unfortunately, we don’t have a great relation with Real Madrid.

I just think from my perspective we've expected Akanji, Stones and Gundo to go and we're clambering to shrink the squad and Bobb is immune as he gets the CT place.

Part of the proof might be in who, if anyone, takes his place, and if any of those older guys do move on.

I think we’ve definitely expected Gundo and Akanji to go, hence the Gala rumours from a few weeks ago. I suppose Pep can send a relative message to them in the next couple of weeks if they get minimal game time for example.
