It's Quiet the £250m return

100% true.
Heard about it 2 weeks ago.
Whether true or not, it's comes as no surprise that teams are lining up to pick off our stars of the future for relative peanuts, in the hope they unearth another Palmer.

Yet, we stick with the old guard who're refusing to leave. I honestly feel sickened mate!

The eleven who opened the season at Chelsea last year:

Ederson
Akanji
Dias
Gvardiol
Lewis
Kovacic
Doku
Silva
de Bruyne
Savinho
Haaland

Three days before the season starts and there’s a fair chance only those 3 start at Molineux. A few still at the club, of course, but it’s indicative of the sea of change.

Id imagine you can add Josko to those 3

No chance this is true imo, unless he had another homegrown right-back lined up. And I doubt we have, given Newcastle’s unwillingness to sell Livramemto.

If its true as well that means Rico has given the nod to a move to Forest as they wouldn't bid if they didn't have encouragement from Ricos side.

See you still have it roundabout, the older players and it’s only 3 of them , are sticking with us not us sticking with them, sickened ,really? Over reaction.

This just stinks of short-termism. The reports over the last few days are making less & less sense to me.

I wanted to see three things before I assessed the season ahead.

1. Who lined up against Palermo.
2. Our formation & tactics.
3. Who was trimmed from the squad.

If Palermo was a precursor to the season, then it's the same formation & tactics for the season ahead.

The second half team bore a striking resemblance to the ageing players who Pep trusts, with the exception of Reijnders.

I'll wait until the first international break to make my final assessment of the season ahead, but I'm not liking the prospect of the formation & tactics which were cruelly exposed last season, & again against Al Hilal.

I'm also concerned about our line-up considering the old guard have refused to leave. Pep's continued to play them, & there all sorts of speculation about our younger squad members either being loaned out or fuckin sold!

What the actual fuck is going on?
Sadly I agree. Pep has a preferred system and preferred personnel. Both took a battering last season and tbh there were signs in the 4 in a row season that things weren’t working. We have a tough start and if we approach this season like we did for large parts of last then Pep might be gone in 2026

Im realy suprised that some people are loosing their heads currently , yes we would have idealy moved on 2/3 of the old guard ( i hate the term Uncs) but our hands are tied with those who don't wish to move or are injured, no matter how much people want to bang on about them.
With the last 2 days rumours, and that's what they are currently, but if the main ones become reality. Donna is an upgrade on Ederson/Trafford and Rodrygo is an upgrade on Savio IMHO , its all pie in the sky at the moment , but id be more than happy .. infact excited . I do feel for Trafford who would no longer be able to feel he will be number 1 next year , maybe we bought him to sell him for a profit , maybe he will be given cup games who knows, but after what we went through last year chill your beans ffs lol

There was plenty of evidence both in the CWC and against Palermo we are approaching things differently, the new coaches are also evidence, some prefer to look for evidence that it’s otherwise. Soon find out.

All of a sudden, we’re looking like we could have a brilliant squad View attachment 165783
A big IF, the Donnarumma and Rodrygo transfers end up happening it puts us in a much better position to challenge.

Right back is still a problem unless Pep has another plan whether it's Khusanov at right back or Stones as the inverted full back, who knows. It's definitely an area that needs addressing.

Yeah fair points. Not long to go now! We need to change tho and hope we will.

Let's be charitable and assume they meant pounds. £25m + £5m for Rico is insulting given our right back situation, his home grown status, his contract having 3 years left to run and the fact they're offering similar money for an older player in McAtee with 1 year left on his deal who is far less valued by the club.
Probably not a popular opinion, but providing we’ve got someone lined up, I’d snap their hand off. I struggle to see it with Lewis, I know he’s come through the academy but as fullbacks go he’s not even the same level as Zinchenko (albeit right footed)
