The squad shake up is badly needed.

Can see Rico, Akanji, Gundo, nunes or kova having to find new clubs.

Savio, Mcatee, Ederson gone.

5 out maybe. 3 above and two older players to Saudi.

Squad balance and competitiveness sorted.

We've only really got 7 attackers for 4 places so I think Savinho, Doku, Bobb, Foden, Marmoush, Cherki and obviously Haaland would all see decent minutes was Savinho to stay. Of course maybe it'll be Rodrygo instead.

I would say Akanji and Nico G are most at risk.

Savhnio is the biggest shock and I don’t think many at the club was expecting it. His name was never mentioned as an outgoing possibility.

Ederson I have always been clear. Even when being reported from all the mainstream media that he was staying. I told you don’t bank on him staying.

He wanted out.

If Ederson and Savinho leave and are replaced by Donnarumma and Rodrygo, would everyone be happy with the above incomings? I personally think if Rico leaves another right back comes in but all ifs and buts at the moment on that.

If Ederson and Sav stay that's just as good as Rodrygo and Donna coming in. I don't see either as major upgrades, pros and cons to both. It's been a good window. Could do with a couple more outgoings and a RB if Rico goes but I actually believe Nunes has a lot of potential in that position, if he learns it properly he could be one of the best in the league, he's already shown glimpses he's got it in him.

Yes agree with all that be happy either way , on balance would prefer Ederson staying another year, but fairly easy about it.
 
It's a lot of players to bed in. hopefully they will click sooner rather than later. Another manager would grind out a few results - but not the boss. It would be great to see us still in touch with enough games to go, and go and our (hopefully) traditional long winning runs.

I’d be ok with that, but our one glaring gap in the squad would remain unaddressed - which is a mistake, in my opinion.

Donnarumma for Eddie and Rodrygo for Savinho brings very little net gain - we’re essentially swapping like for like, and whether the new two are any better than the old is debatable.

But the gap at RB will still be a problem for us irrespective of these moves - and will be targeted by our opponents.

Donnarumma and Rodrygo aren’t going change that.

I’d be far happier if we kept Eddie and Savinho, and brought in a proper right back.
