It's Quiet the £250m return

Too many people can only express themselves in wild extremes. They think they’re making their point forcefully but it makes them sound desperate and not really that confident about what they’re saying. Nuance has been lost both in society and particularly online.
Exactly.
Everything is seen as black and white and no shades of grey, this is definitely a consequence of click bait culture

Also, I think there's a desperate urge to be the first to have an extreme or alternative view and then when things happen that reinforces that view, it's all "see I predicted this years ago" as though they had some great foresight or knowledge.

I disagree again.
Cherki was one of our most effective players, certainly in the attacking sense.
He created clear chances that are evidenced in the video I pointed you too earlier.
Having your captain on the bench and not giving him game time is unusual.
My last post nails it for us all.
You can disagree, but if you think at 2 down he subbed Cherki for minutes, believing he was our best attacker then you are clearly very wrong. You keep your better players on to save the game, your undying loyalty to Cherki is admirable but extremely deluded. Bernardo won't start every week, it is why I didn't want him as captain. He shown glimpses in a game we comfortably lost, without scoring a goal. To replace KDB he needs to do a lot better and I believe he will

work rate needs to improve...defensively - that is a must however

For me the main issue at the moment is defensively and CDM (but especially defensively) - Im not too concerned at all about us going forwards...its transitions and defensively overall where the concern is
Yeah KDB's work rate was brutal - still going full tilt in the 90th minute when he was gasping for air. Cherki's not showing that yet and it might prevent him becoming truly elite. Needs to change that...

No it isn’t, watch our games, we’re not as physical as some teams and it shows. I’m also comparing us to our previous trophy winning sides, with players like Fern, Vinny, Yaya, Kun, Walker - we haven’t replaced that. Too soft now.
And yet only one of those players you mentioned were involved in the Treble season, and he didn't play in the Champions League final. Strange that.

Very good then.... :-)

Mate, you have to compare like for like. When was the last time you saw Lewis play as a pure RB without having to invert?

His unique role means he has to cover RB, No 6, No 8, & No 10. You're comparing him to players who only play as defensive or over/underlapping RB's. It's a totally different defensive discipline.

OK, many of us agree that we need a specialist RB. If that player is to cover the Rico role, can you suggest some names & give examples of how & when they've excelled?

And there lies the problem. Lewis' role is not defined as he's not good enough to be a No 6, No 8, or a No 10. He neither defends or attacks properly and is just making up numbers, a complete passenger

The treble winners have aged, some to their detriment, and some have left. Some of the replacements may become as good, I have high hopes for Cherki and Reijnders especially. But I feel the likes of Bernardo and Dias have regressed physically and in their effectiveness.

Some of our more recent signings are just not up to that standard; Savinho, Doku, Gonzalez, plus the young centre backs that we never play. The team is a shadow of that treble winning side and earlier iterations, mostly because of unambitious, cheaper signings coupled with existing players ageing/leaving.

Every title winning season people have moaned we won’t win the league because we didn’t buy player / position X. Last season the Rodri injury meant for once they were right. So now they’re emboldened and think they’re actually fortune tellers.

That's like Bernard Manning saying he was pencil-slim until he suddenly ballooned in Las Vegas.
You were never optimistic!
Why because I'm not a mindless happy clapper turned angry clapper?

And he only played 27 league games.
More than the two seasons before admittedly, but doesn’t suggest some irreplaceable genius.
I think Walker will be another classic rose tinted City player, in that they get better and better the longer ago they played for us…

I do think he has the creativity though

Work rate in Peps team are a must so it will be quickly found out whether he has it or not...If not he wont get game time
