It's Quiet the £250m return

Edit…I was just saying I think it only worked if we dumped one of Kova and Gundo and then hey presto.

We can keep both if Akanji goes. That would put us at 17 foreign, 3 Association HG (Bettinelli, Stones, Ake) and 3 Club HG (Foden, Bobb, Trafford) with Nico O, Rico both still u21.

What I was saying though is that assuming we are still going to attempt the Eddie out / Donna in then you’re talking about also completing deals for Ortega, Akanji and probably Gundo out at a minimum, now Savio looks like he’s staying that’s one less to sort. Still a lot of work to do when we’ve also got to box off shitty loans for people like Kalvin and Kabore etc.

If we get Ortega and Akanji done, the squad works numbers wise.

Kabore, Phillips etc feels very deadline day loans and you'd assume they get done because the players won't want to miss a season of football.

Saudi and Turkey deadlines are later so that's a fallback.

If we’re not selling Savinho I’d be happy for doku and ake to go there

I don't see the benefit in selling Aké. He's HG, when he's fit he's excellent and can cover LB and CB.

I think of him and Stones as making up 1 fit defender over the season (they managed 40 games between them in a very injury hit season).

They can have Doku. 3rd season here looks the exact same player we signed from Rennes showed no growth.

If Doku goes you need a proven upgrade under 27, who fits wage structure and the same playing time constraints - at most a 50/50 split with Marmoush.

All of a sudden there's very few viable replacements.

I suppose I’m taking into account that it’s pretty obvious we’ve told Gundo and Akanji they can find new clubs if possible as not going to get game time, with them being the 2 left at home on Saturday. So you’d assume they’d both be gone by window close.

I agree with that i think the one thing i think about Doku unlike foden, cherki, savinho marmoush and possibly bobb is he doesn't know what he's going to do before he gets the ball he just sets off dribbling almost by default.

If we could either harness that into a consistent force, or alternatively make him a bit more considered then his ceiling is very high. He's a weird one could end up like Hazard, could end up like Adama Traore, feel like its more in vision and decisions than anything else.
This is what separates great players from the rest.

Ake might want to go to be starter somewhere with it being World Cup year.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be ecstatic if it happened.

I'm not sure Livramento's fortunes would necessarily be linked to Isak's movements, but we'll see.
No, I don't think there is any link with Isak. If we want Livramento and think he's the best we can do is wait until next summer.

If they want to give us actual money for Doku they’re absolutely mental. We should rip their hands off
I reckon Doku would cost a lot. Still one of the best wingers around for his age. Unique profile as he has the physical traits that simply cannot be taught. The best 1v1 attacker in world football.

However, his deficiencies do hold him back far too much at the moment. He's simply too wasteful in possession. I reckon when he's on the pitch, 35% of our attacks end at Doku. The complete opposite of Grealish, who maybe killed our attacks at a 5% rate. If Doku is going to continuously be our outlet and ball-carrier, he does have to improve.

For me personally, I think he's 100% worth keeping around for the impact he can have off the bench when we need chaos rather than control. And for his potential. Still sky high. But this year will be very telling for his future here. Lets big up the lad.
