It's Quiet the £250m return

I hope we can find clubs for a few before the window closes. I think it has really hampered us with regard to bringing new players in.
The reason we have so many is we've signed 12 players in 2025, 4 who have gone out on loan. Hardly hampered.

I meant it has hampered us from bringing in players in the latter stages of this window (that's if there are any that we are seriously interested in).

I'm a happy clapper and I agree.

I think the incomings weren't enough. The midfield is full of technicians and inexperience and will be easy to play through.

The club is gambling on Rodri being back to his best very soon. If he's like van dijk it will be next season that he's back to his old self.

In Doku and Savinho we need them to improve drastically and not sure they will. Hopefully Bobb becomes the player for us we all hoped he would.

I do think the concern about right back is overblown. We didn't have a left back for years and did well.

My concern is the club is again hoping Stones stays fit but a stiff breeze sidelines him.

The problem with Rodri is the club and Pep want to bring him in slowly after such a big injury. Which Peps been doing so far, that’s gone out the window now as he’s been called up to Spain.

You could see in the press conference that Pep was annoyed with Rodri’s call up.

Rodri is another level at this moment, of course, but I was pleased to see this earlier today.

Interesting. Just had a look, and, obviously just two games, but he's our top rated player on whoscored, and second on fotmob. Without a goal or assist to boost those numbers it suggests he's doing a lot of good work.

Sadly it looks like we’re done as far as incoming transfers go.

In my honest opinion City don’t yet have the team or squad to mount a proper PL title and CL challenge this season. I think the best we can hope for is a 3rd or 4th finish in the PL, and either winning the Carabao Cup or FA Cup.

I don’t want pelters off anyone, but that’s my honest opinion. Hopefully I am wrong and City can beat Liverpool, Arsenal, and maybe even Chelsea to the PL title?

I still expect the Eddie Donna change to happen, and Akanji and Ortega to leave at the least, before the deadline. I don't expect any more incomings, but retain nugget of hope for a surprise.

I have previously said this is the least confident I have felt going into a season in maybe 7 or so years, including when Liverpool won it at a canter. But none of those seasons did I also go in thinking it was ours to win.

Still think we have enough to challenge at the least, particularly if margins and luck go our way. And one of the other two have a snowballed mare, like we happened to have last year, we could well be right in it.

Yes, I am pleased.

There shouldnt be a need for pelters off the usual suspects though for having a genuine opinion mate and saying it correctly. The attack dogs need to not be so defensive of an opinion as its a football forum but im sure some of them work for the club as they literally get so offended that we question anything? Khaldoon said in the summer that the club had basically been lazy last summer transfer window hence the major splurge in January? He also stated that they knew what had to be done to get the club back to the level they had been and it would be done, his words not mine ;-) As it stands though, we have addressed a LB, extra legs in midfield and in Cherki POSSIBLY a top class talent but thats yet to be seen to be honest. The non signing of a right back though is truly baffling from the board and will be an issue for the season going forward if we dont sort one. Our rivals are seriously invested and jumped forward where again last weekend, we looked the same as a lot of last season and were soundly beaten at home in the end.

He did also say the club wanted to get the main business done before the CWC. Maybe they genuinely think they have addressed what needed addressed. Agree on a RB, obviously, but with zero links or effort seen in public all summer, the club don't seem to think that is one to address now. For whatever reason we might speculate. If they do sign one out of nowhere, what a pleasant surprise. If they don't, the 3 main signings and a couple future ones, are a decent wondow imo. Particularly if we improve the keeper position, and over the limit players leave. Which has ultimately been our main issue all summer.

After last week’s showing Silva will be back in the lineup probably gonna be reijnders 10

Love Bernie but thought he actually ruined our chance to get back into the game against Spurs.

I don't think he's much more than a midfield engine snapping about at CDM at this point.

Reijnders and Nico is a strong enough midfield base for me - Palinha and Bentancur must be two of the strongest most physical players in the league.
