You can fire them for poor performance.Employment law isn’t my bag, but I don’t think you can sack people under contract for being unable to get rid of other people under contract.

Their job is to recruit the best players to give us the best chance of winning. They clearly have not delivered over the past 3 years, and have failed to bring in the necessary players because they have not moved on from players fast enough. You pay them severance and move on.
