It's Quiet the £250m return

We are still in the rebuilding phase and that won't be completed with just one transfer window, it'll probably take another summer transfer window to get there. We've bought good players but we still have to move on a lot of the older players and replace them and our new squad still has to adapt and gel togethor. I think a top 4 finish is a good result for us this season and next and hopefully FA or league cup. The most important thing is building for the future and stop shipping out youth players like palmer, and bringing in a good coach after pep.

"Rebuilding phase", "time", "building for the future" is just words that sounds better than "our squad is a complete mess and as a result I'm going to start pretend that finishing 4th is a good season".

In two summers we bought 2 established first team players Riejnders and Marmoush the rest are project players who could become top players! We finish in champions league place and win a trophy that be a good season this season!

Project players Khusanov , Reis, Bah and Nypan are much better signings than the 2 above.

Marmoush was very good from January on helped us get top 3 Riejnders he is qualify and a top established player when we bought him there is no denying that! Nouri for me is a worry was pathetic yesterday but let’s see if he can improve!

Certainly to me looks like the 115 has had the desired effect, it’s affected us enough in the market and at the top table for the last couple of years to ensure we’ve taken our eyes off the ball. There’s no denying there are certain players out there that will have had second thoughts about joining us and that’s what it was intended to do.

As a set of fans, we all need to chill a bit, and remember how great the last 15 years or so have been, but accept this is one almighty reset and it’s going to be a bumpy ride for a while, and our time at the top has hit the buffers.

If we exclude the Newcastle game when Marmoush was brilliant and scored a hatty, he has played 27 games for us and have delivered 5 goals and 2 assists. I wouldn't call that "very good".

Like who? It didn’t stop the once in a generation player every single club wanted to buy, and then committing to a ten year deal.

Who had it stopped joining us?

League wise he helped us to finish top 3 and is an established player and he is a very good player!

To end the transfer window with a goalkeeper who isn’t a much needed signing and no right back will set the tone for the season. They have to sign a right back today or we’re in a fight again to be amongst the top 4. That’s fine btw but I don’t want Pep’s last two years at this club wasted.

I didn’t see the game yesterday but reading this forum, does a RB solve our problems? Yes will help if an improvement on what we have, but top 6 finish is what we have

Has he started 27 games? I’m not expecting someone who’s coming on when the team is already down to change anything when the whole team is negative

Compared to Doku, Bobb or Savinho maybe. Compared to regular starters at other top clubs, I disagree.
The issue is that marmoush is a back up striker, we’ve had to shoehorn him in because our more orthodox wingers are injured or don’t have good enough output and our more orthodox 10s are both injured
