I think some people need to chill a little, the numbers on the line are huge here in footballing terms.
A negotiation of this size, and prominence will take time - if anyone thought it would be one or two meetings a handshake and walk out to announce everything to the world, then you’re being a little optimistic.
The bi-lateral talks between Barca and Messi’s team will take days, then there is a legal sign off required between them. Then we have to move onto bringing city into the equation which will be another couple of days (if not already laid out), or a day even if already agreed.
These things take time, process and due diligence, city are a clubs that do things the right and honourable way now so we will let Messi and Barca sort themselves out first - after all - that what we would want if someone was trying to take the jewel in our crown away from us right ?

Apologies then - i misread itHe didn’t say that - he said the Messi camp ‘want their man on a plane by Friday’ which is different.
Tolmie has always maintained that as long and Messi and his father are firm in their stance to leave , this will go over the line.

That's why I appreciate what Tolmie does, he shares what info he gets in good faith... But some posters are always there to say gotcha, ur info was wrong or it was supposed to happen already etc etc

They go off the same limited information freely available on the web. They then condense it down to their own agendas.
Same with betting odds. The odds only reflect the mood, not facts. People laying bets are not professionals. They are people easily influenced in the fake knowledge they have an inside edge.

In ball bags tweet he says no lawyer for Barca as they see it as a football issue.
Well if that's the case Messi can't possibly have a valid contract because if Barca believe he has you'd have thought their lawyers would be there in person to enforce the point.

Absolute shit show from start to finish. We are so much better than all of this. We have been dragged through the courts and media over the last 2 years regarding the FFP bullshit, we don’t need all this negativity. I’d love to see Messi here, but it should be a simple process.
