Other teams are in the same situation with Covid and lack of proper preseason. Doesn't seem to have effected them as much.

We looked tired and unfit last season too.
Doesn’t it? apart from Evertons good start all teams are pretty inconsistent. Liverpool have had a decent start but haven’t looked as invincible as last seasons start.

Tevez, Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli?

The issue with Aguero is not *just* his fitness mate he’s not close to what he used to be. You just pretending not to have seen the decline in his performances when he was fit ? If we wanted to challenge for this league, which we won’t, then Aguero should have had a lesser role this season eg like Silva last season.

Jesus’ problems is also not his recent injury, he’s not good enough to be our first choice striker.

Neither Jesus or Aguero at this point in his career are good enough to fire us to the league.
And it’s not just a striker thing, this side has got major fucking issues which we have chose to ignore for 2 successive summers and in some positions even longer.
Left back has remained the only issue, the rest no. I'm talking about current team. Liverpool did not have a decent backup for Firmino, it was all reliant on an average striker like Origi, they still made it work. We can't just sign players to cover for 'in case' scenarios. It's not realistic.

These major issues have risen because of us losing established, experienced members of the squad. It happens to every side, we just happen to be in transition again. And we will likely stay like this, because we will also lose Fernandinho (consider him lost since hes old and not as impactful, or a starter, and possibly Aguero). So yeah, the team will take time to find new identity, and they need some luck to have a good run of games.

If you think a simple transfer window can fix all that then I can't argue with you. Pep has to stay and see through another rebuild, taking responsibility.

What are these other teams? Everton look very good but I doubt they'll actually be challenging for the title.

Liverpool? They had their entire first team fit and ready, and unlike City, they had a proper pre season, and were well rested as they had no cup, and no CL to worry about since they wrapped up the league so early.

...and they wiped the floor with us last week, what's your point?
It's just your point mate, inconsistent, beat a team 5-2 one week and lose 3-0 to a West Ham side we put to sword on a regular.

Who are the other teams? Every other football club.

The excuses on here for a pretty mediocre start as if the situation is only unique to us.

As I said above, we look unfit and unready last season too. These 3 games are just a continuation of the same problems.

The only teams winning are the ones fully fit, well rested, who've had a pre season, and have their key players playing in every game.

We didn't, hence we lost and drew one.

let’s be honest, Pep is leaving next summer

Left back is 1. Defensive midfield was an issue that we failed to address 2 years ago and then got badly wrong last summer. Highly apparent last season we needed another top forward in.

You mention Firmino at Liverpool but he’s got 2 players either side of him who will both get 25-30 a season. We don’t. Their attack is built to get goals from Salah and Mane. We have Sterling who will score 20+ but unlike Salah and Mane he regularly misses huge chances in big games when the pressure is on.

We lack power & pace in midfield and we lack a world class forward.

Is the season done and dusted in 3 games? We do look unfit and unready because there is context to it. Last season's issues won't just be fixed in a game or two. There is literally no point in moaning about a bad start, we will struggle this season, and it will take time to get our form back. Transfer window would not have sorted it.

Are you saying Pep is the issue?

If you don’t think that Wolves away, Leicester at home (both teams we have struggled with when we have everyone fit), and a newly promoted Leeds high on adrenaline after promotion is a tough start along with players returning in dribs and drabs, Covid-19 and no fit strikers are an excuse then fine. It’s your opinion.
I‘m as annoyed about our start as the next person, but I think I’m a realist too. The spine of our team that contributed to all of our success is either gone or in Ferna and Sergio, injured or at least have to be selective in what games we play them.

I know we finished off a season in bizarre fashion like everyone else, but this is going to be a bizarre whole season. Some of the scorelines and near record goals in a gameweek tell you that. Buckle up for a season of shocks and surprises.

A transfer window of sorting the weaknesses at CB, LB and DM would have sorted it. We seem to have finally, after 2 years, bought two decent centre backs but again we have glaring holes at Left Back and are relying on a 35 year old Fernandinho in midfield because Rodri and Gundogan can't do it.

We looked unfit last season. It seems the same this season. That's a problem not addressed.

Yes Pep needs sharing of the blame. Putting players out of position, keeping to the same system when a change is needed, not anticipating that substitutions are needed and instead reacting when the opposition scores.

Plus I'm sure he had a say in many of the terrible buys that we've made.
