Well this saying of western philosophy - Hope is the best of things (epitomised by the movie dialogue SHawshank redemption) may not the best philosophy to live upon. If I'm Messi and i want to handle my exit carefully, say my piece to the fans and make sure it is heard properly, the last place I'm doing it is Barcelona TV where they have all the editorial control.

I do it in a place where I have control over the editing, I have control over the questions (if it's an interview), I have control over the publishing time and place.

I'd do it in house and put it on Instagram, Youtube, Facebook & Twitter, so my 300,000,000 social media followers can see it & share it.
