It's looking like fans won't be back in football grounds in any meaningful way next season. Next summer there will be some big clubs with big financial problems.
Dead right, second wave before Christmas, third after then hopefully big improvement. Can see FFP being suspended for another year with a possible rewrite to allow football clubs to prostitute themselves even more to bring money in

You know what not many people are seeing this, maybe just maybe City are looking more long term, just look at Liverpool they have just won CL and then the league and they are skint and they only missed 5 home games, now imagine every team losing 19 days of match day takings, next season they will be brassic. City seem to be financially better off than most, come next season and say Messi signed they will be far and away ahead of everyone with sponsorship deals etc. Even if they don’t the way we are run seems to put us in a better position than most, maybe with Pep going the board are almost prepared to lose write this season off to a degree to then push on with a new manager to dominate for the next few years, lose the battle win the war. Then again I could be talking complete bollocks.

Oooops

Even more reason to reinvigorate the squad this transfer window then.

I still think our lack of pace in midfield and defence (Walker excepted) could be a hindrance this season unless it's addressed.

I haven’t been on this thread since the heights of the messi saga - they were the days hey - so haven’t read what’s been posted about for the last week, but having caught the post about flappers just now... is anyone that surprised?

Yes we might win the league. Liverpool might get some injuries, not have the desire, not hit their form of last season, BUT we are only winning the league if we are at our best and they have a dip. We haven’t used this transfer window to push forward IMO.

Torres is a player for the future, I doubt he’ll end up being a decisive player this season. Ake is a decent upgrade on what we have but questions remain whether he can slot in next to Laporte as he normally plays left too.

We’ve also lost Silva and as great as Foden is he’s going to still have moments where his form drops (or he does something stupid away with England). Agüero is pivotal for us and on the wrong side of age. Questions remain whether Jesus can fill his boots.

meanwhile Chelsea have bought very well and will no doubt close the gap between them and us(albeit they are still significantly inferior at present so I’m not saying they will overtake us).

Point beingare the flappers really flapping or are they not just being realistic?
