Isn't the difficulty for many is that the club will be chasing what they believe they need, rather that what the fan perception is?

Well obviously but we don’t know what that is since none of us work at city in upper management so, as fans, on a football forum, we debate what we think we need and evaluate how the club is doing.

Not sure what your point is?

I agree, however I'm also sure that both the fans and the club know where our issues lie, might be looked at flapping in some instances, but fans understand the game as well you know............honest

I don't really even see what all the 'concern' is about. We're going to sign a CB, and even before that signing we've improved the squad hugely with Ake and Torres.

Always get the feeling that people are reacting not to what City need, but to what other clubs are doing.
If we add Koulibaly or Kounde to Ake and Torres then it's been a decent window overall. I still think we're lacking a bit in midfield though - Aouar would've been perfect, but you can't have everything.

Fair points we don't have the influence in the transfer market to the degree we would like.

When we miss out on players some obviously that come to light at the time or subsequently or some that don't whether its down to money or other factors we don't seem to have a plan b or c as it should push more emphasis on developing youth on the home front.

With Foden we perhaps see our first homegrown player who has come through our programs who can be regarded as a starter or regular on the bench in many a year.

We have to develop more for a number of non- negotiable reasons and I don't see that happening on the radar.
Foden looks a great prospect but still will have lots of ups and down and will require looking after this season.

There is still time to add to the squad and the covid situation is making the transfer market difficult for all.

I very much doubt anyone would claim we’d had a bad window if we add Koulibaly but as it stands we haven’t, hence some of the realistic/negative posts.

I am not sure what to think about this transfer window. It feels inevitable that there will be no fans for quite a while and I doubt we’ll see full stadia for at least a year, maybe longer. This is going to cause huge financial strain and may see a complete restructuring of the market. How are clubs planning on finding these major signings, other than those that can afford to subsidise the loss for a year now FFP is suspended?
And could it be argued that playing a longer game may see clubs get better value as fire sales will have to take place?

Think we only lack in midfield if we get a long term injury, otherwise 1 from Rodri, Gundogan, Fernandinho and 2 from Bernardo, KDB, Foden should be enough.

have you heard anymore on Koundé?

The flappers are not able to rationally discuss what we need. Instead, we get hyperbole, the club being slated as inept and cries for heads needing to roll.

That is my point
