Ferguson used to get lauded for doing transfer business early, it was the sign of a well run club apparently.
If we add Koulibaly or Kounde to Ake and Torres then it's been a decent window overall. I still think we're lacking a bit in midfield though - Aouar would've been perfect, but you can't have everything.
The flappers are not able to rationally discuss what we need. Instead, we get hyperbole, the club being slated as inept and cries for heads needing to roll.
That is my point
8/10 window if soAke , torres and one of kk / kounde is a decent window.
Maybe a back up striker / cm / and lb would have been ideal.
But it won't be a disaster.
We lost Laporte, if Sane was not injured in the Charity Shield game there was a high probability he would have left.
We have genuine weaknesses in the squad and ageing players.
Ake a solid signing, Torres is exciting, but we are weak in midfield, short in attack, Aguero's injury is a concern, and we look to be going into a 60 game season with one fit striker.
Lb is still an issue, as is the midfield.
It's complicated to buy when you've got the talent we already have. Just my opinion, but in a lot of positions we have so many high quality players, that I imagine it is hard to add more without selling.
Was talking to someone yesterday about the 9 position as an example. We need someone who is prepared to sit on the bench when Kun is fit, not demand to play every game, but also be better than Jesus and be even more consistent than Jesus in his goal scoring. It's just not that simple.
My worry with Auoar is simply that I don't want anyone signed in CM until it's established what Phil's role will be. For me he's an 8, and adding Torres means we will need him less in the front 3. If we're going to play Phil/KDB a lot, then we don't need another midfielder unless we're selling one IMO.
